hi all
i need some input from outside sources.
last year, we rented a vacation home outside disney and absolutely loved it. it was the best vacation we've had.
since we decided to go to disney again, we rented the same home.
i just put the final payment in 2 weeks ago (we leave feb 25.) and now the management company(mc) of the home emails me and says the owners of the home have sold it and originally they were going to close on march 10 (after our trip). now they want to move the closing date to march 4 (in the middle of our trip).
the mc says "we'll upgrade you to a 5 bedroom for free".
well, the cost of either home is fairly close, i don't need 5 bedrooms and the upgraded home does not have a spa like the other one does. so it doesn't seem like a fair deal to me.
i specifically wanted this home because of the location, the spa, and the security alarm. so i feel they should accomodate that.
am i being unreasonable?
i'm asking this now because they haven't returned my emails in 2 days (which they've never done before) and i'm going to call them tomorrow. i'm getting really nervous since our trip is so close and i already have the airline tickets and 5 day park hoppers.
HELP!

First step would be to read your contract carefully to see what, if anything, it says about this. Good luck!

Maps:

There are PLENTY of wonderful homes in Orlando with the same amenities. Tell the management company of the amenities you REQUIRE, not prefer because they are disturbing YOU, and see if they can match what you want. The extra bedroom is showing that it is an upgrade but not one you require.

I have rented several homes in Orlando and I REQUIRE some amenities that I won't bend on, the jacuzzi being one of them! See if you can talk to someone who can help you out over the phone.

And, a suggestion for the future, try a management company that requires the payment AFTER you arrive. This is the only way I will deal with them because my life is so topsy turvy I need that flexibility!

Hope it works out for you!

thanks for your help.
what homes have you rented that require payment after you arrive? all the ones i've seen require payment in full 30 days in advance! i do have trip insurance of course because of this.
i did re read the contract and of course in fine print they make the comment that changes "beyond their control" may occur and that i guess i'm stuck in the end as usual. hopefully this wil all work out.
thanks again
