HELP!!!!!! More Disney Dreams to fulfill! 09/04 Exciting news!

Karin I had to hold my breath when I read your news of big changes for 2013!! How wonderful you get to get back on and experience the Western itinerary! I was trying to figure out if we could swing few days extra at WDW before or after the cruise in 2013.

Guess what, Teri, what we were most concerned about with the changes, was that we did not want to loose our time with you.
So adding the other cruise was the logical thing to do. And the only thing that really bugged me from the beginning was that I didn't get to go up that escalator again right after we got off. :rotfl2: So we get to do that too! ;)
We will arrive a few days prior, so if you add on towards the beginning we can "hang out" together! :goodvibes

Wow....a 2 week cruise...that's amazing!!! So happy for both of you. I think going to CA in one trip is better than going from coast to coast. Airfares are so high. Even though we have BCV booked for December, we do not have airfare booked. Howie's waiting for Jet Blue's prices to come out in May, but is getting nervous that Delta's prices are going to go up by then. December's fares are always higher because it's holiday season. I know you said that BLT studios are small...how do you think we will fit with the 4 of us? We get to WDW on Aug 17th and leave Sept. 3, so we will have to make plans before you leave for your cruise.

Thank you for sharing in on the excitement! We are both so happy about our decision.
We both LOVE California and even 4 weeks seem short enough, but now that the decision is made, we are pretty happy about it. We'll either go 2014 or 2015, then the "new" factor will be a gone a bit for DL's Cars land too! AND I will have sufficiant time to enjoy my time in all my favourite cities again.

Airfare from Europe is always costly, especially since we always have to travel at the height of travel season. Flights for our summer vacation come to 3500 $ for the two of us (roughly). And yes, there would be cheaper options, but they would mean that we might lose up to 4 days of our vacation time - NO way!
I love the convenience of flying out of our home town and Lufthansa is the only airline that lets us fly to Orlando with only one stop over, so we are kind of stuck with them. ;) :goodvibes

Since you asked about the size of BLT studios. It was okay for the two of us .... for 4, I don't know. But then I don't know how much time you'll actually spend at the room. There is actually one queen bed, then there is only the nightstand and the pullout sofa and you are actually at the balcony door. I guess it will feel a bit crowded with 4 people in the room.
They actually have kind of a "little kitchen" (not just on one side of the bathroom) which takes away some of the living space.
Any chance you could change to a 1 bedroom?

I am hoping we get a good bounce back offer on our Sept. visit that we can use in 2013!:thumbsup2 We will definitely add on a few days before the cruise.

That's what we are hoping for! We have a few nights before and after the cruise that are not covered by DVC points so a nice discount would be a good idea!
I would love it, if we had a few days together before the cruise. :woohoo:

I think after hearing about your airfare, Howie would be more than happy to spend 1600 for 4 to Orlando during Christmas. I figured that airfare from Eurpoe would be expensive.

The kids & I tried to convince Howie to go to CA this summer. I wanted to start in San Francisco and end in Disneyland. They want to go to Disneyland so bad, but Howie just couldn't part from his favorite WDW.

Thanks for the info on BLT. I can't switch to a 1 bedroom because of the DVC points. We have stayed in studios at BCV & BWV and manage. Howie reminded me that we did see BLT studios when we were in Disney. I forgot, thinking I would never stay there. We are staying there for 7 nights, so the view and Top of the World will make up for less room. We can't wait to stay there. :)

I can't believe you are doing back to back 7 night cruises. That is amazing!!!! Although I am extremely jealous, I am so excited for you. I can't wait to hear all about the differences between the Eastern and Western.

I am always jealous about your airfare. ;) I just checked what flights to Paris would be for the two of us in 5 weeks time (hoping for free flights but can only book 2 weeks prior) and they are around 750$ per PERSON!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:
Yes, Europe is going crazy on airfare. :rotfl2:

Have you been to CA? We love it there - last went in 2006! If you need some pointers when you go, please let me know. There are some really fun places that one should not miss. :goodvibes

I guess you travel with each other often enough that you will be okay at BLT. What we loved (in addition to the view) was the little kitchen. Again, just a kitchenette, but it was not opposite the bathroom, it was next to it.
May I add that I am SO jealous that you are staying there? But we will take good care of OKW for you in the meantime! ;)

Just keepin' up!!!!!!!

:woohoo: You are doing good, Rosie!!! :goodvibes

We are excited about the news as well! :woohoo: When we first booked we had a hard time deciding which one to pick and now we are going to do both! Sometimes I really have to go to the DCL website and check if the reservations are still there - 2 full weeks on board the Fantasy! :dance3:

And here's another weekend! :goodvibes

So, here's a little update ........

only

5 more weeks until Disneyland Paris!
Guess it's time to post some plans! ;) :rotfl2:

Only 20 more weeks until our summer vacation!
Guess it's time to think about planning some more!

We have decided to get our rental car voucher this weekend, so stay tuned on what we decide and will get! popcorn::

I hope there will be enough time to post the first day(s) of planning for our DLRP trip over the weekend. :thumbsup2

We are staying for 4 days this time, so there should be plenty to report on - and there are lots of new things to see, like the new 20th Anniversary Castle show and the new parade. :thumbsup2
If you ever come to Paris, Ann, please let me know as we would love to show you round!

You might be on the right track with your thought about what car we are thinking about!

Of course!!! I wouldn't dream of going to Europe without telling you. However, it might be a while. So many other things to throw money toward. I just can't see a Paris trip being in the near future. ;)

Congrats on the B2B 7 day cruises! I'm officially jealous!!

I am glad I could help you and that you enjoyed your trip to DLRP! We'll return there in just 5 more weeks and I will definitely be thinking of you while there! :thumbsup2

And thanks for sharing our excitement about our back to back Caribbean cruises. We still can't quite believe we are doing it and I have to go to the DCL website to remind myself! :rotfl2:

I have a little bit of news to share with you all.

We have finally managed to book our car(s) pre and post cruise. It was a bit of a "bumpy road" there, but worked out nicely in the end.
And this was it ......
We usually book with AutoEurope, a company that offers special rates for rental cars worldwide.
After several "checking attempts" we sat down on Sunday to book our car. And to our shock-horror we realized that one leg of our trip was not available with Hertz! :scared1:
We booked the second leg with Hertz and discussed what to do. Dollar was considerably cheaper, same categorie ..... hmmmmm ........ well, we did book with Dollar in the end.
Fast forward to today - I have an email from AutoEurope in my inbox, telling me that they cannot provide the Hertz car for the second leg and are offering something different - Dollar. I called Tom and we discussed, checked the price, Dollar again is cheaper and we decide to just go with Dollar this summer. (Often had cars from them and were okay with it!) But before I wanted to call them, I checked the offer again and low and behold they are offering a Dollar car to a Hertz price! :sad2:
So I called them and talked to a very nice salesperson who was surprised to hear that I could tell who I was booking with and I let him know that if they would ajust the price to the online Dollar price than we would buy.
Well, he did ajust the price and this is what we are going to get!!!!!!! :cool1: :rolleyes1 :dance3: :car:

Hi Karin....I was in CA many years ago, before Howie. Howie is not a traveller, but I did manage to get him to go to Hawaii and Israel. The first time we went to WDW back in 1990, he was hooked. It's a good thing I did all my travelling when I was a kid. Howie appreciates you taking good care of OKW. I know he would rather stay there, but it was time for a change. :)

:rotfl2: I had a feeling you might be getting something like that. I am sorry you had the complications in booking you did though. :confused3 Glad it all got sorted out!!!

Sorry that Howie is not a traveller, but at least he loves WDW and that's always worth travelling too ...... and I guess you all like cruising too! :thumbsup2

It wasn't all that hard to guess, was it? :rotfl2:
I just could not believe that they did not have more variety in rental car companies left at this time. We are still over 4 months out and in that category, Dollar was the only one left! :scared1:
