I need some schedule help with my half days. Right now we have a 4 day (no park hopper). We had planned on spending a half day at AK, but don't know if we should go on our arrival day or our departure day [(????) below]. I was thinking a half day @ AK and then a more relaxing half day at DTD, the boardwalk or some other non-park part of the resort.

OR...

Should we just pay the extra $8 per ticket and get a 5 day pass so we can go both days? We have a package purchased through the WDW website. If we do decide to add a day, how do I do this? Are we going to be charged $50 for "changing" our reservation, or can I just pay the difference when we get to WDW?

My concern is that we will need some "downtime" before coming home. We have to go to work the next day!

Here's our schedule so far:

Friday, Oct 14 (DH B-day)

Flight leaves PHL @ 6:45 am, arrives at MCO @ 9:10 am
ME to Pop Century
(????)
ADR--Ohana's @ 7:55 pm

Saturday, Oct 15

MK Day
ADR--Kona Cafe @ 5:10 pm

Sunday, Oct 16

Epcot Day
ADR-Le Cellier @ 6:10 pm

Monday, Oct 17

MGM Day
ADR-50's Prime Time @ 4:50 pm

Tuesday, Oct 18

(????)
ME to Airport
Flight leaves MCO @ 3:45 pm

I say get the hopper. It gives you some flexibility if you arrive to a park and it's too crowded, or if you get done with what you want to do early.

Thanks, but we really are not interested in the hopper. We have found it is a waste of $40 for us. We tend to do 1 park a day with a good touring plan and early mornings. That combined with going off season and avoiding EMH days, we haven't found the need for a park hopper on a 4 night trip.

i would go with the second day for $8 cant go wrong. You may want to also no go to AK with the extra day but a nother park. Have fun.

I would get the 5 day since your getting there so early in the morning & your AR dinner is late. You really won't have time on your departure day to do AK as ME is going to pick you up around 12:30.

I would go to MK on your arrival day since you get down there early and it is a Friday. MK will be crowded on Saturday. Go to Animal Kingdom on Sat. The crowds won't be bad at all. Since your reservation is at 5:10 you won't have to rush from another park to get to the Poly. Then you can go back over to MK afterwards depending on the hours that day. On Sat. since your ressie is later you can stop from the AK back to PC and freshen up b4 dinner.

Consider the extra day if there is no change fee. You may want to do another morning at MK on your departure day. We typically go back to work the next day too and are exhausted. If you don't want the MK then go to DTD on your departure day.

Hope that helps!

For the minimal price to increase to 5 days I would go with that. Even if you just go for a few hours on your arrival day and your departure day or if you only go 1 of those days it has not cost you that much and you have the oppotunity to be more flexible. :sunny:

For an extra $8 I don't think you could go wrong !!

according to the UG, the AK is a "best park" to visit on the 14th, its also not supposed to take all day so it may be a good choice for your arrival day.
