I have $100 that I can use at http://www.giftcertificates.com and I'd like to use it to get something for DW. I don't want to just get shopping cards or some such, I'd like to order something.

We both got $100 to spend there for participating in a wellness program at my work and she spent all of her money on getting stuff for the kids, so I'm going to spend all of mine on hers.

So any suggestions? Good ideas?

Personally, I would redeem the coupon for a fall jacket or fancy sweater/slacks from LL Bean, Land's End or Eddie Bauer.

Good luck,

herc.

Are there any gift certificates available for a day spa? That's my favorite gift because I would never spend that much money on myself but just love going.

One year the hospital gave giftcertificates.com cards to all the employees at the holidays...along with a gc to Publix! :) I treated myself at Bombay. LOVE that store!! :) Have fun choosing something!

I love that site because people can choose where they want something from as opposed to a gc from one particular store.

Does she have a favorite fragrance?

For $100, you should be able to get a nice gift set, or a spray parfum/body lotion set in her favorite scent.

It's a little luxury... princess:

(Looks like sephora, macy's, lord and taylor and others are on the gift certificate list.)

Come down to Chicago on Sunday for pizza at Rajah-Con and we will discuss it, Jeff.

But Dan, then DW would be with me and I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. She'd be upset at me for not spending it on myself - I just think she deserves it more than I do.

I think this is the nicest thing I've heard of, ever. You could spend it on yourself, but you're going to shop for her. Very touching.

I agree with DisneyMomx7, and think a spa gift certificate would be great. You can find a spa near you through spafinder. I know you wanted to order her something tangible, but a spa treatment is something she'd never get for herself.

Good luck and let us know what you decide on!

You so sweet....I agree with the spa treatment. I would love to do something like this but I hate to spend the money on myself, would rather use it on the kids. Or a manicure/pedicure, I just got my first ones last week, felt guilty about spending the money but it was so relaxing.

Another vote for a spa treatment! I just had one last week and it was so wonderful!!!

What a great hubby you are!!

A Spa day sounds great!

How about something she's wanted but felt it was too frivolous:

Maybe luxurious bed sheets or a really nice pillow
A fluffy bathrobe
Nice perfume
A new purse or sunglasses
Anything else that she doesn't NEED buy may want...

I love gift cards. Sometimes I don't use them right away but just knowing that I have one to use on whatever I want makes me very happy. How nice of you to think about your wife! Good going, hubby.

Adding my vote for extravant gift that she would not ever buy for herself; day spa or expensive perfume. Anyone can buy a sweater as a gift, but these two items say "you are so special and I want to spoil you". Which, I get the feeling is what you are trying to do....

The website/catalog Red Envelope has wonderful things and I believe that you can get a GC for them thru gift certificates.com.

Also, you can get a Benihana GC from them and take her out on a special date (if you like Japanese/hibachi food) - or bring the kids along, it's a fun place for a family. The one we have in downtown Milwaukee is very nice and a lot of fun.

You're always so thoughtful. Gael is lucky to have you. :D

:lovestruc

A nice romantic dinner for the two of you.

You're in trouble, aren't you?

Nope. As a matter of fact, I'm sewing the girls Halloween costumes so she's been being really really nice to me lately.

Jeff - will you marry me?

While I KNOW I still do quite a few things wrong (us husbands take constant training) I don't think she' ready to trade me in quite yet. At least I hope she isn't.

How about a purse??

buwahahahhhaa A purse? While I'm perfectly comfortable with buying jewlery and clothing for DW, a purse is one thing I don't think I'd attempt to buy. A ladies purse has to be JUST so and I would have NO idea about it. (although maybe you are right, I could get her one of those $77 knockoff purses... what was it? gwen stafani or something??? ;) )

I like the spa idea, that's a good one. She's gone to a spa before on a Mother's Day gift certificat one time and moaned about how extravagant it was (of course she LOVED it). I think I may actually do that....

Thanks for the thoughts everyone!
