I bought a new Olympus SP510 at Christmas. It was used a few times around then and worked great. It sat unused for a couple of months until last week (Easter). I turned it out and the low battery indicator was on, so changed to the batteries to a new set (but had been sitting in a drawer a few months). The low battery indicator still stayed on, so went and bought yet another set of new batteries. Put them in, and the indicator is still on. After taking several shots, the low batter indicator will go off, but any time it is turned off or mode is changed, it comes back. Anyone have any ideas?

If the batteries sat in the camera for awhile, they may have leaked. Did you check inside the battery compartment? I've had this happen to me before.

Could you let us know what kind of batteries you are using? (i.e. alkaline, rechargeable, lithium, etc.)
