I will be coming into Penn do I need to take the subway, if so could someone tell me which ones do I need to take to get there. The address I have is
5 east - 98th street. Thanks so much:thumbsup2

you'll need to take either the subway or bus. subway would probably be faster. you'll have to make some transfers though. grab the 1,2 or 3 from penn up to 42nd. then take the 7 across to grand central. then hop on the 6to go up to 96th street. sadly, there's no easy way to get to the upper east side. cabs are right out front, but it'll probably cost you a good $10 or so.

From what I remember, I think it is the number 6 train (uptown). I don't think you need to transfer, but I could be wrong.

walk right out of penn station and hop in a cab- easiest way!

I'd walk east to Madison Avenue and take the bus uptown. If you prefer the subway, walk to 33rd street and Park Avenue to catch the 6 train and get off at 96th street.

If you have trouble getting around then I'd just take a taxi.

If you decide to take a cab, there is a cab stand outside Penn Station with an attendant who hails cabs for you. Get on line and the cabs come pretty quickly. :)

Do you know Penn station is at 34th St.? Just giving you an idea of the distance. :confused3

Take the cab. Changing at 42 and across to GC to change again is confusing and a total pain the behind. Take the cab and make your life so much easier!!!

Take the E train to Lexington Avenue and change for the 6 there.

Thanks everyone for all of your responses this really helps me and my dh out..I will show my dh the posts tonight and then we will see which route we will do!
