Wife and I will be in Southern CA 12/27 - 1/3. We're from Pennsylvania. Our 30th wedding anniversary on the 29th!!

Tickets for Rose Parade on 1/1.

I know the Disneyland parks are famously crowded during that Holiday week. But for you experts, what days would you pick? Or are they likely all the same?

We've been to WDW many times but we haven't been to DL in 21 years.

How many days? Are you staying onsite?

For a 1 day trip, I recommend Monday (29) because there is no Magic Morning crowds already in the park and it would be a great anniversary day!

For a 3 day trip, I recommend Monday, Tuesday, and Friday because Wednesday and Thursday will probably be the most crowded days of the week because of NYE and NY Day. Any day you choose though will be very crowded and you will NEED to get there early.

As someone who's anniversary is also on December 29th! Happy Anniversary. We will be at the park the same time. From everyone that I have spoken to the whole week will be crazy but the 29th should be the least crazy of the days you had mentioned. We made dinner reservations at BB for dinner for our "romantic" anniversary dinner with DS 10 in tow!!!

Very much agree... & will repeat to get there EARLY (45 min. BEFORE opening) on a non-MM day. Tour & collect FPs early prior to the hordes arriving between 10am-noon.

Probably 2 days in the parks - in the area we arrive SatPM 12/27 and leave Sat AM1/3.

No, not onsite. I'm usung frequent flier miles and hotel points for the trip so we're staying at the Courtyard Marriott Los Angeles Hacienda Heights/Orange County - about halfway between the Rose Parade and Disney.

Thanks

For 2 days i'd recommend Monday & Friday (since you're driving in each day anyway....no problem splitting the days up). Neither are MM days, & you avoid weekend / actual holiday.

But account for the time it takes for parking the car & have someone in your party at the Security gate 40-45 min. prior to opening. You can drop them off.

TO ALL - DURING THE HOLIDAYS....WHEN DOES SECURITY OPEN UP? (30 MIN. PRIOR.....OR EARLIER?)
