Hi All ~ We are planning our next trip to WDW. We are considering WDW resorts. Deluxe are too $$$$$$ for me for what you get, we love the mods and have stayed at CBR twice, FQ once and CSR once. We don't need to do CSR again, we would do CBR over and over again, we liked FQ, but might try RS mansions next time. We are looking at a two resort stay, 10 nights, 5 nights at each. I'm not opposed to trying a value resort if I can be talked into it. Any suggestions? Thanks! Sandra

As for mods I've stayed at CBR and PO Riverside. Both are great resorts but are very spread out. My children favour CBR because of the fun atmosphere.

I have not yet stayed at any of the value resorts, but I'm sure they are also great.

Have you given any thought to renting points from thre Rent/Trade Board?, for about the price of a moderate you can stay at one of the DVC deluxe resorts, one of our favourites is Wilderness Lodge.

I'd go for PO Riverside. We stayed at the Mansions for the first time this past October and really liked it (we've stayed at FQ previously). We love the boat to Downtown Disney. We also really like CBR.

We've stayed at the values too and really like them but the rooms are smaller -- there's just the two of us so room size really doesn't matter and you can't beat the price.

Good luck chosing.

I have actually never stayed at a deluxe or moderate. We have been to disney 4 times know and and going back in August for our 5th stay. We always stay in the values. I have tried only the movies and Pop. My DS14 favourite resort in Pop. We were on the dining plan last year and got a chance to check out some of the deluxe and moderate resorts. When we told our son, we were going back again next year he requested POP. I asked him why and he said for the amount of time we actually spend at the resort, why waste the money. Personally I totally agree with him. If I was going to do disney and spend more time at the resort then the parks I would definelty stay at a moderate mainly for the extra's that are offered.

I Love my stay at POP last september and would not think twice about recomending it to any one like one of the other posters said why pay more

We love POP. Last year we went and POP wa full. We stayed at AASS not as nice as POP.

Why not try the Family Suites at POP!

DD loves the arcade there!

We have stayed at POR and CSR and loved them both. We enjoyed AllStar sports but if spending time at the resort we wouldn't stay anything less than a moderate. The Dolphin was a great resort and it has the BEST location..you can walk to Epcot or MGM or take the water launch plus the Boardwalk is right next door. It is a deluxe hotel but they often have special rates ( we paid $99/night with their teachers/nurses rates) and the beds are amazing and the pool area is fantastic.

I am in the minority as I didn't enjoy POR at all!! Found the resort way too busy and spread out. While the grounds were beautiful a relaxing walk with the kids was filled with stress for me as i tried to get them out of the way of passing horse and carriage riders and those on the rental bikes.

I love POFQ....also beautiful and smaller. I enjoy POP when I decide to stay value. I actually find POP to have the best bus service of all the resorts. (over 20 visits in 5 years and have stayed in most levels). I love the space the DVC resorts give and have successfully rented points before.

Depending on how your dates fall...i would rent points for a Sunday-Thursday DVC stay in a 1 bedroom and then do the other 5 nts at POP.

Sandra, don't forget to check your CAA rates for Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge. After the Poly, they would appear to be everyone's favorite Deluxe resorts (they were the top 2 favorite overall resorts according to a Disney Magazine poll - before it ceased publication). They would give your family a totally different WDW experience, and I've been sensing that you're looking to shake things up a little bit this time. We love trying out a different resort whenever possible. I think you'll be surprised what a different feeling it is at one of these places. They run $325 in Peak season, and I'm not sure if CAA offers a discount at that time. As far as moderates go, we love PO - either R (mansions) or FQ. We've never tried a value (but will be in 07) so I can't comment on those. Isn't choosing a resort fun?! ;)

I would pass on Riverside AKA DIXIE Landings. We would stay at CSR every trip if a MOD was our destination can't beat it it is a deluxe resort with a moderate pricetag. For Value I would choose any of the All Stars or POP we love teh All Star reosrts if we weren't DVC members we would be splitting our entire stay between an All Star Resort or POP and CSR. You just can't beat teh true Disney feeling you get staying at the Value resorts especially the All Stars like Movies and Music all teh larger than life Disney icons all over the place we love it.

If you're looking for a new experience, you could always stay at a Fort Wilderness Cabin.

we stayed 10 nights at POFQ and 1 night at POP.
2 years ago we stayed at POP as well.

We love the atmosphere there..but after leaving the FQ..the room just seemed so tiny-and we missed not having a fridge/coffee maker. Even the curtained off sink area was a nice touch for those busy mornings.

Riverside looks gorgeous..much bigger than the FQ--but good bus service it seemed!

DH has been hinting about staying at CBR again....we adore that resort. So we might stay there for half the stay. CAA rate is in our budget.

I still have a second resort to pick. I'm trying to see if I can rent points for DVC resort. If not, I'm lending towards towards PORS mansions. Thanks! S
