Ok fellow DIS'ers, I am going to take this request solely on what you all recommend. I am not a very big breakfast eater but I would like to see what you all would recommend for a character breakfast.

There will be four of us including my dd(12) and her best friend(12) who is visiting WDW for the first time. I have done Cape May and have to admit I was a bit disappointed, not in the character interaction, it was awesome, but in what I thought was as average in the food. Perhaps I'm being tough, but like I said, I'm not a big breakfast eater.

We are planning a breakfast on the day we leave which is Sunday Aug. 8th. I've looked online and there are a lot of available choices. So what would you recommend and why? Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, or perhaps somewhere else?

My breakfast future is in all your hands, I'm going with what you suggest. :goodvibes

Crystal Palace or Tusker House, depending on which park you prefer and which characters appeal more to you.

I'd skip Chef Mickey, personally. Besides the mediocre reviews its been getting, I like the last morning to be in a park. I would want to soak up that last little bit of Disney before I left...not sit in an average looking room at the back of the Contemporary. Depending on the time of your ADR/Flight...you could do a lot of fun things at the park that morning. Doesn't even have to be rides...maybe try and find the little details that you missed previously (street performers, characters, riding the cars down Main St, picture spots, etc.).

Well Crystal Palace you'd have to go into the MK, so if you have a ticket I'd vote there!

If you're not really interested in a big breakfast, why not try WCC or the Kona Cafe at the Poly. Kona would be close-ish, and both have ala carte items.

If the rest of your group would like a big breakfast with characters and everything, I'd head to the CR and check out Chef Mickey's. Or head to the GF and eat with Alice at 1900 Park Fare.

I'm not a big breakfast eater myself so I'm really looking forward to trying Kona.

BTW-whereabouts NE Ohio are you? I'm from around that general area (and lived in Cleveland for 2 year)

We are from Brunswick. About 25 miles south of Cleveland in Medina County.

I should add to help get opinions; we are flying out pretty late (by choice). Our flight leaves Orlando at 5:20 so this should give us plenty of time in the morning and early afternoon to play. We are staying at the WL so this will make it pretty easy to get to the MK or any of the MK resorts. We are wide open to where to go. Any of the parks have attractions we could hit one last time, so this is going to come down to where we eat. We do have park hoppers.Where we eat is going to be where we play for a few hours. :thumbsup2

I know where that is :) Small world lol!!

If you are going to a park, then I really vote Crystal Palace. My next vote (if you can't get a ressie) would be Kona Cafe!

Hmmm...I previously said Crystal Palace or Tusker House, but now I'm thinking maybe you should have an early breakfast at your resort. With kids that age, you could then just go to whichever park they want for the "one last time" highlights (or even hop between a couple). I like to schedule, and I like character breakfasts but giving those girls a choice might work great for you (especially if you have hyper scheduled the rest of the trip :rolleyes1).

Ohana if you don't want to go into a park
Crystal Palace or Tusker House otherwise.

Not a fav of: H&V, Chef Mickey's

If you don't have park tickets I would suggest either O'hana or Boma. O'hana is a character interaction, and I saw that you didn't care much for the interaction, but the food is brought to you and it is a meal I still remember and wish I had near my hometown without having to go to Disney for ;)! Boma is an excellent buffet and no character interaction :)! Good luck!

Crystal Palace is a NEVER TO MISS for us. We enjoy Chef Mickey's, but we LOVE Crystal Palace. We enjoy getting an 8:05 a.m. ADR and having Main Street basically to ourselves, we enjoy Pooh, Tigger, etc., love the puffed french toast, made to order omelets, etc.

Tusker House.

Lots of breakfast food and some other interesting choices. Donald greets outside. Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Goofy all visit the tables. Breakfast ends early at about 10:30 am. Don't worry if you get a 10:30 am breakfast, the food is still great and the characters will still be there.

I didn't even think of that. What a great way to take some pics with no mugs, or butts to obstruct the view. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Boma is my favorite breakfast and favorite buffet on property. It's a great choice, especially because it gives you an excuse to tour the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Tusker House! I've been to Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey, even Cinderella's, but none have very much variety...Tusker's choices are amazing. Basically it's Boma's diversity with the characters...Plus we got the tree of life all to ourselves!

Crystal palace gets my vote as well. But another idea would be the Grand Floridian cafe or 1900 Park Fare. Both are great and you could monorail or boat it to MK or Monorail it to Epcot for your last day :)

Just putting in my two cents :) Boma is by far my favorite breakfast anywhere in WDW. That being said, I think you asked for character breakfasts, in which case, I would definitely go with Ohana. Having done practically every character breakfast that can be done, I have definitely found that Ohana has the best food. I also don't dislike Tusker House, but if your DD and her friend are at all picky, they may not like it. Some of the flavors are a little strange i.e things that aren't supposed to be sweet are as an example. My cousins are 9 and 13 and they hate it. Crystal Palace isn't a terrible breakfast. There's a lot of variety, and the character interaction is usually good...but the food at Ohana is much better. Hope that helps.

I would vote for Tusker House :thumbsup2

The characters and food were both excellent and I think AK is a wonderful park to be in early in the morning as you can head straight onto the Safari after breakfast :)

We did CP for the first time last trip and did this, and it was AWESOME!:thumbsup2 I loved walking up an empty Main St.; it was so cool.:cool2:

Whatever your park plans, I would book the earliest ADR and an in-park restaurant so you have maximum park time on your last day; therefore I would go with CP, Tusker House, Hollywood and Vine, or Akershus. Out of those, I would pick CP.:)

If it doesn't matter if you lose a little park time that day, then I would either pick Ohana or CM. The food and character interaction at Ohana is better IMHO, but CM is fun and should be experienced at least once. Either would be a good choice.

Like most of my fellow DISers, I just couldn't give a straight answer!:rotfl2: Good luck.:goodvibes
