I'm in twelfth grade AP english, and I have to do a research book report. The problem is, I'm having trouble choosing a book to do my paper on. I would do Wuthering Heights, but I did that last year. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I really loved Of Mice and Men, so I'd probably pick that one. We had to do a literary analysis over The Scarlet Letter, which was a challenge, but by the end I did like the book.

Good luck!

What kind of book are you looking for? Literary classic or something more modern? If it doesn't matter I would suggest Flowers for Algernon. It's one of my favorite books and there is a bit you could work with for the report.

any of the vampire chronicles:
interview with a vampire
the vampire lestat
queen of the damned

they are all good

I am in AP lit and I am in also in 12th grade. We have a research project due this April.
I have chosen Atonement, The Kommandant's Girl, and The English Patient.
We had to find three books with a similar theme and do a large essay comparing them (20 pages), and 1 page critical reviews on the way.

I read Pride and Prejudice.
sooo good! :goodvibes

well, it had probably better be a classic...

i did scarlet letter and to kill a mockingbird, as well as pride and prejudice, and flowers for algernon in previous years.

sorry, i know it's a tall order, but since i'm on the highest english track, i've done a lot of papers on books. normally, choosing one isn't a problem, because the teacher gives us only a few choices. this time, we get to pick whatever we'd like as long as we can find enough criticism on it. yikes.

how about "Little Women" or "The Portrait of a Lady"

The Portrait of a Lady sounds promising... I'm going to be looking into that (not to say that I couldn't use more recommendations)

1984? There's so much to analyze and it's a phenomenal book.

The only ones I can think of right away with tons of criticism are the Harry Potter books.

I'll probably think of more later.

any of chris d'laceys dragon series
1.the fire within
2.icefire
3.firestar
4.the fire eternal
5.darkfire

i suggest you start with the first

Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens, it's long but good.
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, super super good it's one of my favorite books.
and of course anything Jane Austen is good.

I'm currently reading The Lovely Bones it's really good. I want to read it before seeing the movie.

Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility was REALLY good, so was the Vampire chronicles as mentioned before... hmm maybe the Portrait of Dorian Gray? They were all really good... what about A Separate Peace?

anything by Jane Austen.
I did a research project on her for AP Language and Composition last year (junior year). Are you in AP Literature?

The Great Gatsby, The Catcher in the Rye, Anna Karenina (very long, but also very good. kind of like a soap opera), 1984 (as previously mentioned), Tess of the D'Urbervilles is apparently very good, my mom's read it, and I've been meaning to read it. A Tale of Two Cities is a good one.
