Our Disney vacation is March 2006 :cool1: , however I really want to take advantage of the extra 15% off at Disney Direct today..... I'd like to start putting away some disney items for my DD for x~mas ;) Heres my problem ~ she's a little peanut... 9 in may but just into a size 7/8. I'm interested in some swimsuits and the next size up is a ?? 10/12 ?? :confused3 Have any of you ordered the swimwear and how does it run? Thanks a bunch :flower3:
Any other ideas on neat things I can put in a big Disney Carry~On for her for x~mas????

Oh, I hate Disney sizing on their kids clothes! Is the swimsuit to be used this summer or next summer? If it isn't for anytime soon, I would wait to see what size your DD is close to. And Disney often has great big sales on swimsuits close to the end of the summer/beginning of fall.

DS is currently between their sizes right now, too big for a 2/3, but 4/5 shirts reach his knees. I'm sorry I don't have good advice for you, I just wanted to complain about the sizing too.

I always buy one size bigger for my kids in swimsuits then their clothes..I happen to think that some of the Disney ones run small on top

Thanks for the replies!!! :flower: The suits would be for next March..... so maybe I would be better off waiting until the end of this season and buying them then??? Do they generally have a decent selection at the end of the season online?? Thanks again ~ I like to be able to actually look at what I'm buying... it's a little difficult shopping for clothes online! Maybe I'll hit the Disney store at the mall and check them out! :cool1:

I agree I have found the suits to run small on top too.

I think I would wait until the end of the season. Last year in Aug I got some great deals for DD. I got the swim suits, matching cover ups, the cute little hats, and shoes that matched for really cheep!!!!! I think they were marked down to like 75% off. They had all most all the styles to choose from left over too. :teeth:

I really think their swimsuits run large. The 4/5 sizes are still too big for DD4 this year and she usually runs pretty true to sizes. I've always found that swimwear gets bigger and stretches once you are in the water. Disneydirect.com and the Disney Store usually run great deals on swimwear in early June too and at the end of the summer.

As for things to put in her special Disney themed carry-on...

Disney Princess Hair Accessories
A Swim Suit Cover Up
Disney Princess Toothbrush (Battery operated or manual)
Autograph Book and Fat Pen
Guest of Honor Badge
Guidebook such as Birnbaum's for Kids
Hidden Mickey Book
Pin Trading Lanyard and a few pins (eBay)
Disney T-shirs
Disney PJs--these do run small IMHO
Disney Light Chaser/Spinner Toy for night-time parades and fireworks
The Magic Kingdom Board Game--available at Toys R Us
Disney Dollars

The one we bought last year for my daughter is a size 4/5. She is almost 4 but tall for her age. She is wearing size 4's in all her other swimsuits (she has about 6 - they are all so cute I can never decide). But her Disney Princess 2 piece is still too big. I think if it was a one piece she could wear it but this one is way bigger than her other swimsuits in the same size.

Thanks for the helpful advice and also the tips!!! :flower:

I buy all my kids stuff early for xmas and I find their bathing suits to run big. My daughter is 5 and 34lbs/42 inches tall. I just bought her a one piece size 4/5 and its falling off of her. the two pieces my mil has to take in the bottoms. I like to by at the end of the season and stock up on their clothing. My son is 3 and 30lbs/36 inches and the 2/3 are falling off of him. :confused3

I have found the swimsuit leg holes to be big on my daughter. The Disney ones that is. My mom took the elastic up one year but this year she looked at them and did not think that it would work on the one she was looking at. I think when they size a 4/5 that it leans toward a size 5 more than a 4, which makes sense if you think about it. A size 4 person could fit in a 5 (to big yes) but a size 5 person would not fit into a size 4. Anyway, I have seen better sales on Disney Direct than what they are having now so I am holding off buying anything for now. But!!!!!!! The Disney store is having 50% their clearance right now!!!!

gemjoy, I don't have input about what you should buy, but a comment about your daughter being a little peanut. That's EXACTLY what we say about our going to be 10 in November daughter who's also in a size 7-8, and could be in a six if the legs weren't so short!!. Was she a preemie by any chance? Suz

Suz D ~ That's soooo funny! We've always called Gabby a peanut ~ she wasn't a preemie (2 weeks early) but she was barely 6lbs. however, I'm only 4ft. 11in. ;) so her being tiny is no surprise! Thanks for the note, it made me smile :)

In my experiences with nieces the Disney bathing suits run big and the pjs run way on small side.
