My daughter's swimsuit is just starting to get too small but I thought we were fine as it is the end of summer. But today I remember she will need a suit for sure this winter because she is starting middle school and they have a pool! I looked all over today but there is nothing much left on the clearance racks so I will have to look online.

Anyone know how Speedo suits fit compared to xileration brand suits from Target which is what she has now? I saw a Speedo one DD would just love but I don't want to waist $ on a suit if it will be too small. I can't find an xilleration size or I'd just use that info to decide.

I just stocked up on swim suits for next year. My DD is 6, but so tall she will need a size 12. Anyway, I got two during a recent sale at Lands End for $4.89 and one at Target for $2.50. I also got my son two at Target for $1.75 and one for $2.50. So, for less than $20, they are mostly set for next year.

Anyway, I highly suggest Lands End. You might not get them as cheap as I did, but they might have Labor Day weekend sales/clearance/overstocks.

You could always find a local swim shop. Our shop has a good selection of what they call "grab bag" suits that are just last season's prints for a lower price. I like to order from swimoutlet.com. They have a great clearance section. Speedo is also having an online Labor Day sale for 25% off. You can easily measure her and go by those measurements for the size. I ordered my son some new jammers from swimoutlet a couple of weeks ago and got great prices on them. The best thing about getting Speedo brand suits is that they tend to hold up longer than the cheaper suits, so if she will be using it often, it might be better to buy one that costs just a little bit more.
I just checked swimoutlet and in the clearance section they have suits for girls from $11.99-$19.99 that are really cute. The women's sizes are from $14.99 and up and there are some cute ones at the lower price.

I will 2nd Swim Outlet. As a competitive swimmer, it's hard to beat their prices on all things swim related. They ship fast and have a good selection. Speedo suits will last a long time if she rinses them out in water (don't use the suit spinner).

I agree about Lands End. I recentley ordered DD three suits for next summer for a little over 5.00 apiece. I bought her one Lands End suit at the beginning of this summer and it has held up much better than the suit I bought her at gymboree about the same time.

Have you tried Justice? DD12 doesn't like their clothes anymore, but she's ok with their swimsuits. She got one recently to wear on our Nov trip. They are having 40% off this weekend.

my daughter loves Lands End and they fit and cover where they are suppoesed to.

Lands End has some great clearance suits. If you have a Costco nearby, they had Speedo suits at mine this past weekend for $11.99.

I recently picked up some Speedo suits at Kohls. They were at 60% off reg price. With coupon I think I got 4 suits for about $8 a piece. I noticed that these Speedos run small - so my size 5 DD is wearing a size 7. Likewise, my DD10 who normally wears 10/12 is in a 14.

I think Kohls' Speedos are a bit on the small size, but great value.

Thanks everyone for your help. I finally found one in her size at Target. This late in the season here in MN the pickings are very slim! I did well though, as it only cost me $5.80 on clearance. :goodvibes
