We are going over to Universal June 9th to see Blue Man. I have a 1/2 off one night voucher so we decided to splurge and get a Club room. Since we're somewhat local (1 hr) it's never made much sense to pay that much.

I'm hoping DH will like it enough that next time there's a good rate, he'll want to stay again. What should we make sure we do to get the most benefit? What time do they put beer and such out in the evening?

TIA! :thumbsup2

Dessert is always yummy. I think it starts at about 8.

what time does your blue man show start? And when are you arriving and departing?

If HRH Club is like RPR Club, breakfast is served till 10:30 am. Then there are only light snacks and drinks out till 5 pm. Beer O'Clock is 5-7 pm, and they are very prompt on the times for that.

How do you get the most? Check in at 8. If the room is not ready go to the club lounge and eat breakfast. When ever you leave the club lounge take something like a couple bottles of water and a couple of sodas. 5 o'clock is the biggie so be there. The food at HRH is pretty good. The others I would say don't substitute for dinner but at HRH we skipped dinner at night because the offerings were pretty good. Take the ice tray from under the ice bucket in the room to the lounge and fill it up and take it back to the room. I don't think they let you take a 6 pack of beer out but everything else is fair game.

Thanks for all the responses. I was planning on going over early so we could spend the whole day - Blue Man is not until 9pm. I wasn't sure though if we would have access to the Club floor before the room was ready. I'm happy to hear that!

They give you the room key for FOTL and it works in the elevator to get you on the 7th floor. The lounge is right be the elevator.

breakfast til 10AM

as i have said in other posts - use the large tray you get (or appropriate one) with the welcome gift and bring it to the club room and take food back to your room.

as MF said everything is fair game and no one has ever said anything to me for doing this.

There is no more self serve beer - they hand it/serve it to you probably to stop underage drinking.

Water/Soda served all day

Once you check in you get room keys even if your room is not ready and/or gets changed later. This is mostly so you can have access to club room and front of line access in the parks.

I think they stopped doing the self-serve beer to stop guests from taking more than one. They were pretty strict on that last time I was there. They were also strict on the time 5pm for serving the alcohol. Many nights they were very slow on bringing the wine up and would only have beer available for awhile. This was annoying and I swear they would be slower getting it out if you asked for it. This time, if it becomes an issue to get the wine, I think I will keep getting beers until they bring the wine in. I'm not talking a few minutes; I waited over a half hour last time. The cocktail hour is not a surprise, I couldn't understand why they weren't ready with everything. Anyways would it be very childish if I kept asking for wine, kept getting no not yet, then take a beer - try it, "nope not wine" throw it out - ask for wine again, and on and on until they bring it??? Remember I patiently waited over a half hour and this happened more than one night last time I was there.

OK - maybe my family just had them trained! Every night we were there my family was on time and ready for beer o'clock (love that term AlexandNessa!).

There are six in my immediate family with two SO's for a total of 8 and all but one was drinking age (my poor baby brother just has one more year to go!).

We were the crazed family that was rushing FROM the parks just to make it in time for happy hour, so maybe they knew we were not messing around!

After the first night, they had everything ready for us on the dot! It was not self serve, but they would give you as many as you asked for. Are we allowed to post pics with "adult beverages" in them? If so, i have a pic of my brother in HRH Club at Happy Hour that illustrates this point.

That being said Morningstar i am hoping next time they are more prompt with the wine! Especially since they are quick to shut it down promptly! I would have definitely said something - that is one of my favorite perks! No wine at Happy Hour??? Sacre Bleu!!:scared1:

I hope so, because I've certainly posted my fair share! :)

We had them trained too, but then again, the club staff at RPR knew us very well. ;)

morningstar, you are certainly not expecting too much, and I hope you let the hotel know that you were unhappy about the lack of wine. After all, they do specifically advertise having evening wine available when you book club.

Thanks everyone for the responses! I'm looking forward to it. One last question, DH wants to know what's normally out for Breakfast?

Is that all? RPR has warm oatmeal, hot cinnamon buns with extra cream cheese icing, many different types of pastries/croissants, and gourmet bread in addition. I am missing RPR Club right about now. :upsidedow

They could of had more but me and Bob never made it past the donuts.... mmmm... donuts.
