In anticipation for our trip, I'm wanting to watch the Disney movies with my kids that would help give them some background for the rides/experiences! Help me make a list of the must see Disney flicks! Here's what I have so far:

Toy Story
Bug's Life
Monsters Inc.
Little Mermaid
Snow White
Sleeping Beauty
Cinderella
Peter Pan

And I'm drawing a blank! What other movies would be helpful for my kids to see before we go?

Nemo
Pinocchio?
Dumbo?
Alice in Wonderland?

And I know you mentioned Toy Story, but all 3 Toy Storys are represented in the rides/attractions

Aladdin
Cars
Mickey, Donald, Goofy in the Three Musketeers
The Incredibles

Depending on how old your kids are:
Star Wars
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Pirates of the Caribbean

Dumbo
All the Princess movies
Pirates
Haunted Mansion with eddy murphy if they are old enough?
Ive never seen it but song of the south is based off splash or the other way around
Nemo
Toy story 1-3
Peter pan!! <----Personal favorite!
Lilo and stitch

It is hard to find, but the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!). We found it at our library.

Tarzan (Tarzan's Treehouse).

The Storybook Land Canal boats have scenes from classic favorites and some older ones - I think the Three Little Pigs are in there. What else am I missing?

Maybe some old cartoon shorts of Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald.

How about Roger Rabbit?

My DS won't sit through long movies so I made him a book before his first trip (he was 3) that had pictures of different characters that we might see on the rides and around the park. I just found stickers and printed pictures off the internet and then glued them into an empty sketch book and wrote the names next to the characters. I also found pictures of some of the rides (the train, dumbo) so that he would recognize them when he saw them.

Very much agree with Pinocchio (one of the greatest movies ever imo), the animated Alice in Wonderland & Ichabad Crane w/ Mr. Toad feature.

All attractions found at DL and NOT at WDW. :thumbsup2

(& because they're great movies & the characters are often out & about.....Mary Poppins, Mulan & Jungle Book.)

:)

I would definately add:

Dumbo
Pinnochio
Alice in Wonderland
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

Brother Bear 1 and 2 for the Redwood Challenge area in DCA (is that what it's called)?

Oh! Sorry! I should have thought to search for it before I asked! (We need an embarrassed smilie!) Thanks so much- that list is PERFECT!!

And thanks everyone else too!! You've given me a lot to look out for at our local library!! :thumbsup2

Beauty and the Beast
Nighmare before Christmas (depending on time of year you are going)
Tangled

One movie I loved as a kid, and now my kids enjoy as well..

Sing Along Songs - Disneyland Fun

Along with teaching kids a few good songs, it also gives a sneak peek of Disneyland and some of the stuff that can be done while you're there!

I showed it to my kids before our first trip to Disneyland - they were so excited and couldn't wait to experience Disneyland for themselves!

Oh, no apology needed at all! I just meant, YAY! it comes in handy again! Searching can be really tricky sometimes on DIS. It was easy for me to find because it was my post. :goodvibes

Glad the list will help. Enjoy family movie time!
