OK, so here is a rare look into my inner crazy. I booked my kids (6 & 8) for the pirate adventure. Now, of course, I'm freaking out a little. I don't like them to be out of my site, especially when we are on vacation. The crazy fire is being fueled even more by recent threads about wild life and snakes, etc. Now I am having visions of them getting attacked by gators or bitten by water moccasins. How can I relax? It will be OK, right? It's not like they lose kids here and there, right?:scared:

It's always good to worry about your kids, because that's what's mothers do best. Your kids will be just fine. My 2 boys went on the GF pirate cruise last June and had a great time. They were 4 and 6yo at the time. I was a little more worried about DS4 because he can wander and not pay attention. Just talk to your kids about keeping an eye on each other and helping each other out. The CMs won't let anybody drown or get lost!!

1. They don't lose kids.
2. What is it that you think you'd be better able to do to protect your kids from a gator or a water moccasin than a CM trained to deal with the area?

Ultra protective mom here...We sent out then 5 yr old son on the pirate cruise and he was fine. (He's now 14 and is just coming back from a chorus trip to Hershey PA...and DH went as a chaperone :thumbsup2) Try to relax, and you will have a nice hour+ of quiet time.

I agree with all of the other posters. I am one of those moms like you so I understand. My children have never been with a baby sitter other than family and I don't let them out of my sight, ever, except on the Disney Pirate Cruise. I sent my son and daughter at 6 and 7 and all three of my children at 5, 7 and 8. They had an amazing time and are dying to do it again! BTW, they did the one at the Grand Floridian and the Beach Club. Their favorite was GF but they enjoyed BC too. So I am sure whichever one you chose they will LOVE it! Go, relax, and have fun!

My son went on the pirate cruise last year and had a blast. Of course he also skinned his knee during one of the parts and had a huge bandage on when he pulled back into port. Even with that he had an awesome time and has asked many times if he can do it again when we go back!

I do understand as a worrying mother myself, but the pirate cruise is very well done. My kids had a great time and were well supervised.

We just got back from Disney 2 weeks ago and my son (just turned 7) did the pirate cruise at the Yacht/Beach Club. We also have never left him with anyone but family and he has never done anything like this before - I was actually really surprised he even wanted to go - we had talked about it at home and he kept saying no way - didn't want to leave us, go alone with kids he didn't know etc - but when we got there he saw another cruise going off and thought it looked fun. I was nervous but he had a ball and loved it - so much that he wanted to go again! They make all the kids wear life preservers, had them all repeat the rules and had 2 "pirate leaders" for 10 kids. They were on a pontoon boat decorated like a pirate ship that slowly went around the lake and into Epcot searching for clues and treasure. We could hear the kids cruising along - all shouting Arrrggg! Very well run and I would not hesitate to send him again!pirate:

Grab a drink (or 2!!) and sit by the pool of the GF while they're out and put your feet up! My DD was 4 when I sent her into the Alice Tea Party and I was so relaxed! I could have sat there all day.

My kids went at the CBR and LOVED it. They are 4 and 6. It was a nice break for DH and I as well.
