This will be our second trip to the FW cabins. Our first was a long weekend and we didn't even bother with getting more than water for the cabin.

This trip will be a week long and we plan on using gardengrocer.com to stock it. There are 2 of us.

The intent is to have breakfast in the cabin, and have some extra food around in the event we're at FW around lunch or dinner time, and some snacks, etc. In other words, this is vacation, I ain't cookin' :) Breakfast will be light - I don't each much, and DH will be happy with frozen pancakes :)

I think I'm pretty ok with the food items, but keep on thinking I"m overlooking something.

So, what did you folks forget to order that you will not forget in the future? Any special items you can think of? I did see someone mention plastic wrap in another thread, and I can't even find it on garden grocer. Anything else similar?

Also, we like Lipton Cold Brew Tea for iced tea - will they take special orders for items they don't list?

There may be some folks here that know, but there are LOTS of folks on the resort board that use Garden Grocer and can answer your question a lot quicker.

Oh yeah....!! I have forgotten a few things before...

Here is the list

Charcoal for the grill and lighter
Grill Utensils. (I just got a spatula)
Ice cream
Bug spray ( not always needed)
Creamer for your coffee

I don't like to cook much either but when you smell everyone else's grills, it is hard to resist. Plus it is easy to just throw on a burger, dog or steak. The mouse keeping will take care of the grill afterwards too. :thumbsup2

If you have a favorite spice or grille rub to add to whatever dead animal will be sacrificed to the grille, I'd order it up. I think they supply salt and pepper, but maybe some Monterey steak seasoning?

Coffee filters. I forget if they have the Mr. Coffee style basket coffee maker or the cone style automatic drip makers?

Laundry detergent if you are going for a long trip and figure on doing some wash while there?

That's about all I can think of. We were in the cabins in 2003, and DW did all the planning so I'm not sure what Disney provided vs. what we brought at this point.

Hope you have a great trip!

Thanks much for the ideas so far! As I expected, I hadn't considered a few items.

DH wants to grill, but I keep saying "do you really want to light the grill for just 2 of us?" I suspect I better just order some fixins for a quick bbq :)

IIRC, the 10 cup coffee maker uses basket style filters, and I already put those on the list.

Keep those ideas coming!

The only thing I didn't plan well for was extra cups. The cabin has 6 mason jars and 6 coffee cups, but with 5 of us there (give or take on any given night), those ran out quickly and I wound up buying plastic cups at the Meadows Trading Post. That wouldn't be a problem, but boy were they expensive! About $5 for a small package!:faint:

So, that's my one suggestion. Have a great time!

OK here is more idea's

We also get a lot cheese, sausage, hummus, crackers, veggies and dip, chips. And that is our dinner. It is easy and you don't have to cook. And cheaper then Disney.

Thanks again everyone! Keep 'em coming. You've given me so great ideas. I particularly like the no-cook cheese/crackers, etc idea. It will be hot when we go, and this sounds like a quick and easy dinner to have before heading out.

don't forget the lysol, makes the cabin smell fresh, i brought this last year and was sooo glad i did i also sprayed the beds and comforters too haha but you can't beat that fresh smell, also i was going to say coffee filters also:) we also brought condiments like sugar packets, salt and pepper packets, ketchup and jelly packets (get them at mcdonalds ect and save them) don;t forget the dryer sheets and laundry soap if needed as they cost a small fortune to buy there. we are going in sept and i have my list also:lmao: Have a Great time :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks for bumping this. I never thought of Lysol. Since it will be hot and humid, freshening the cabin might be a good idea.

I too collected salt, pepper & splenda. Not that much, as I don't plan on cooking more than once. The splenda is for the iced tea.

I ended up spending about $200 for 2 of us for a week. Lots of that cost was for fresh fruit and melons and fresh meat to grill all at once to have in the fridge for any lunches we may be around. I figured 7 breakfast, 3 or 4 lunches and 1 steak dinner to be eaten the night we cook all the rest of the food.

From home I'm bringing Lipton Cold Brew, as GG didn't have it on their website and I don't trust they'll shop around looking for it, a plastic sippy cup full of olive oil, dry marinade mix for the chicken to be used with olive oil :), plastic wrap, and some store brand plastic storage containers to hold some of the cut up fruit. For 1.35 for three of them, it was well worth it.
