Help me find Dinner! (and Breakfast too!)

So i'm trying to be throughly prepared for my first time with the dining plan, and this being my boyfriends first trip.

So to be fair i bought the "official" book and the "unofficial" guide so i could read through both and see what they had to say about the restaurants.

Well, the official book is fluff, as i kinda figured it would be...but the "unofficial" guide cuts everything down. great.

I am aware that the food will not be the best food ever. I've been to Disney. I've made ADRs before. I've eaten in many of the restaurants. But i was trying to find "new" places that both me and DBF could discover "together" for the first time. Every place i've read a menu for and thought we would like, they had nothing but awful things to say (save for Boma).

I need help now, Faithful DISsers!!!

I was looking at Sci-Fi Drive in, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Nine Dragons, and Boma to start. Yes or No? I've heard such mixed reviews on all of them (save Boma again) that i'm starting to stress out.

Where is your favorite place to dine in the world??? We're very basic, unadventerous eaters. (DBF in particular loves meat.) I was thinking to sticking to buffets, because we can have a wider choice, but i don't want to miss something good!!

I am assuming you are lookinto to stay within your DDP credits. Then the WCC is a great fun place to have dinner for just 1DDP credit. If you are looking for a great meal and are willing to use 2credits give the Yachtsman Steakhouse or Jiko a try the steak at both is very good if you are looking to stay within the plan.

We've never done Boma (plan to try for breakfast as I doubt I'd like dinner--too many spices/flavors that do not appeal to me); never done Nine Dragons either. We've not been to Sci Fi in about eight or nine years, but it is on our list for our next trip. It's been getting some good reviews lately. WCC--not for us. Didn't care for the food at all and the service was awful. It just left a bad (no pun intended) taste in our mouth and we won't be going back.

All of that being said, everyone should try a restaurant once if it appears they might like it. Everyone has different tastes, preferences and expectations. If we had listened to everyone, we would have never tried Mama Melrose, Tony's, Plaza, etc., and we have always enjoyed our meals there.
