I currently have a 3-day, 3 park for the price of 2 parks (promo tickets) that sell on the USO website for $314. We will be at USO for a today of 4 days, and currently unsure whether we will go the parks all four days. If we do, I'm trying to find out the cost to upgrade and I understand the USO ticket prices are a good guide.

Currently, USO sells a 4-day, 3 park for the price of 2 park (promo ticket) for $329, and a 4-day, 3 park ticket for $395. If upgrading to add an extra day to our current passes, would Universal calculate the cost to upgrade based on the promo ticket or the regular priced ticket? For example, would the cost upgrade be $329-314 = $15, or $395 - 314 = $81?

I would call and ask... however, I seriously doubt they'd let you add a day at the promo price after that promo is over (they stop selling that promo on Feb 12th - are you going next week?). Once they stop offering the promo, I can't see them extending it on an individual basis like that.

Note that if you add a day and are at $395, the 3 park Seasonal AP is $404... would make another visit within the year only $9...

Not to mention the $26 a day parking they would save with the AP.

You will get the promo price credit when you upgrade. What I would probably do is, if you think you might use 4 days, call them now and see if you can upgrade to the 4 day promo ticket now while the promo is still on (if you purchased your tickets through the Universal website). You won't be able to upgrade to that ticket once the promo is over.

Guest services is unable to tell me how much it would cost to upgrade to various options, and that I'd have to go to Guest services in person when I arrive.
Is it fair to say that the differences in prices between the different ticket options on the Universal Website would provide the best estimate?

Yes. You should get credit for what the universal website lists as your promo ticket price (even if you got that promo ticket cheaper elsewhere).

Like WDW, you will get conflicting answers until you actually go to Guest Services and they scan your ticket. They may be able to upgrade to anything you like at a reasonable cost.

Did you get your ticket through the Universal website? If that is the case, you will get exactly what you paid for it. If you got it from Air Miles, I don't know exactly what you will get but it will be close.
