We're wrestling with our resort choice for our December trip. We're going the 18-26 and are torn between Contemporary Tower and WL Concierge. The price difference is negligible, so that's not the concern.

We have three boys--one will be 7 and the twins will be 21 months. We have stayed at WL before and loved it, but the CR has much larger rooms.

So, throw some pros/cons my way please!

I vote CR. My sons, 4 and 2, loved the monorail, and I loved being able to walk to MK. The rooms really are HUGE. They both also liked the arcade.

I, too, would vote for Contemporary. Both for the larger room and for the monorail. We also like the CR restaurants better than WL (although Artist Point is worth the boat ride over from CR). With 2 under 2, I would want the monorail convenience.

Last time I stayed at CR tower was during Xmas way back in the late 70's... so I don't think I can give you an informed opinion on it now.

However, I did stay at WL this past Christmas and absolutely loved it. We didn't stay concierge (I stayed concierge a few years back and wasn't impressed) but did have a courtyard view that was beautiful, north wing right across the waterfall, 4th floor. It was close to everything. We even watched Wishes one night from a hallway window right around the corner from our room. It was just a short walk to the boat dock and everywhere else. The Christmas decorations were great. This resort is one of my favorites.

I don't care for the theme of CR, but I'd chose CR over WL.

CR has MUCH larger rooms and MUCH more convenient transportation.

Although I personally do not like the them of the CR I would choose it b/c of the monorail because of the age of your children. Although I do love the WL, it is beautiful at Christmas. Are these your only choices? We prefer the Poly b/c of the easy access to MK and Epcot and the beautiful theming (although you cannot beat the quick walk from the CR).

I can't even begin to explain how excited our DD3 was to see the castle from our tower room and to watch and hear Wishes every night from our patio balcony! Also, the convenience of the monorail is great.

Have fun!

I would choose Contemporary as well. For me, that time of year, may be crowded, and I wouldn't want to have to deal w/the WL boat w/your little ones and big crowds. At the CR, you can take the monorail, or even walk and not wait in line at all to get back from MK.

Another vote for the Contemporary here!

Wow, if you can get a tower room looking at the castle at MK, I would take that hands down!!! Although I'm not super big on the Contemporary styling... it is such a cool resort. The monorail running right through that A-frame resort and being one of Walts original hotels. What more Disney could you ask for?

Now if you could get CR Tower Concierge, I'd be in heaven. :)

Have a great trip!!

I would choose WL (especially concierge) over CR anyday.

Make sure you look at lots of photos before you book CR--we were shocked at what a dump it was. Worn down carpet, outdated furnishings--yuck. I wouldn't stay there for free! It looked like a prison, it even smelled old. The grounds are also ugly--go for WL!

And the value of concierge when you have little kids is important--being able to grab them snacks, fresh fruit, juice and milk throughout the day and evening is wonderful! Concierge filled us up for breakfast, and we took a few pieces of fruit for the kids to snack on in the stroller throughout the day. So worth it!

A dump??? I don't think so. It's called the Contemporary, so that's the theme. I've brought my whole family there, and they all loved it. This year, for the first time, we were also trying to decide between CR and WL, and we chose WL, just for something different. But we have stayed at CR almost every year since 1997, and we love it. I think the kids will too, and the convenience of being on the monorail is HUGE!!! ENJOY!!!

This is a tough call. I really prefer WL - I love the theming, especially at Christmas. It is a truly beautiful hotel. However, with 3 kids, especially kids in strollers I think you'll benefit from the larger room and monorail access at the contemporary.

Thanks so much for your feedback! I think we're going to go with CR for a couple reasons--one, the room size will be great, and two, transportation. I *adore* WL, but I think the room size alone at CR wins me over for this trip! Thanks again.
