Help Me Decide!!

I am having trouble deciding between booking through Disney and staying at Pop(my daughter loves the giant Lady) and renting DVC points at AKV in November. My husband doesn't mind Pop(He loves the food court) and if we stay there we will have park hoppers. If we stay at AKV I would most likely not do the hoppers since once we are back to the room we would probably stay. Our dates are Nov 2-11. Seeing how last year those dates weren't included in free dining Im not looking for them to be this year either. We stayed at Pop this past October and the room size is fine for us as we aren't there much. I just keep coming back to the idea that I can rent points for almost the same price as Pop for that week. Is AKV worth it? Or am I better off at Pop with the hoppers?

If it's the same price, I'd splurge and go deluxe. And get the park hoppers, why limit yourself?

I would go for AKV it is a world away from POP and I am sure that your DD will love all the animals

I would also do AKV if you can for the same price. AKL is SO unique everyone should try it once!

Even if it costs more, wthin reason, I'd stay at the AKV. It is a full service resort experience. You won't be sorry.

I too think you should try AKV. We have only stayed at AKL not AKV but we loved it.

I think you should mix it up a little and try something different. Your whole vacation will be a different Disney experience! Not only will you will try a different resort-but a different level of resort also. You will be at your resort more than you are used to, and enjoying your resort more than you are used to. You will still be at the parks, but enjoying a whole different part of the Disney experience- the resorts!

I can't imagine that you would not like it, even though it is different than what you are used to in a Disney vacation. AKL is awsome with tons of things for kids to do, a great pool, an arcade, people from Africa there to tell you about there countries and their cultures, and of course the animals!

Who knows, your family might be adventurous and try some African cuisine at one of the resaurants there.

I think you should try the AKV route- you will not regret it. If you do not park hop and stay at the resort more, you might end up with a more relaxing Disney vacation!

Thanks every one, I think I will go for it. I personally think I'd like BCV or BWV better for myself but I know DD would love the animals at AKV. Since this trip wasn't even an idea until last week I think we will def try it. I think I just talk myself out of it when I hear about how far away from everything it is and so forth. I would love to try Boma while there but my husband is not an adventurous eater at all.

I would do AKL and still get the hoppers. Although AKL may be farther away than some of the resorts, it's not really that far away. Also, hopping from one park to another doesn't mean you need to go back to the resort (ie. MK to Epcot) or if you do need to go back to a resort to park hop, nothing says you need to go back to your resort. For example, if you were at DHS and wanted to hop to the MK, go get on the bus that takes you to the Contemporary and then walk over to the MK. If you were planning on getting hoppers if you stayed at POP and the price for POP and renting points is roughly the same, then still get the hoppers!

BTW, I am with you, I would pick BCV. The pool is amazing and it is great to walk right into Epcot and take the boat to DHS.

And about Boma and your husband not being an adventurous eater- we did breakfast at Boma, and they had both African and American fare offered. My DH and DS are not adventurous, but both found plenty to eat (and I got to be adventurous and try a few African foods). BTW- we LOVED AKL- did I mention that?
