Hi; I got lucky and got us reservations with AP rate for December. I currently have two options:

Dec. 3-7 PO standard view $88 / night
Dec. 7-12 WL woods view $139 / night
TOTAL $1,047.00 + tax
or

WL 3-12 courtyard view $156 / night (no other room type avail.)
TOTAL: $1,405.00 + tax

Other than cost, our main reason for wanting to split our stay was because we also like PO, especially to take the boat to DTD on our first day. Is it worth it to split or should I try to stay at one resort to enjoy our vacation more?

I would choose to split (not a big surprise when you look at my signature lines).

I switched last trip between Contemporary and Swan. I plan to do so again in Dec between Hilton, Downtown and Dolphin, and again in March between Shades of Green and Dolphin.

If it's your first trip, I would suggest maybe not switching so you don't take any time from the parks.

I love the differences between the resorts besides the different ways to get somewhere (a boat to Epcot from Swan or monorail from Contemporary to MK).

This Dec, I wanted to save money and couldn't stay at Dolphin for the whole trip so I booked the Hilton for $95 instead of $124 for Dolphin for 1/2 the trip.

In Mar, I will add the Dolphin for a couple of days but will be saving money by staying at Shades of Green for most of the trip ($94).

My vote is to split your stay. When we are at Disney longer than a week, we always split our stay. We also rent a car so it's very easy for us to transfer. Plus you'll save over $350 by doing it!! Whatever you decide, have a wonderful vacation. :D

We split our stay last year. Part of the trip was at Animal Kingdom and the other at PO Riverside. It was nice in that we got to enjoy two different resorts and the food court at PO was very nice. As you know, the boatride to DTD is a perk as well. Of course AKL was just awesome and we were blown away by how incredible this place is. The draw back to splitting is that you never seem to be "settled" in and it felt like we lost a day in the move from one to the other. If I were to split my stay again, (considering one resort was a moderate) I would stay at the moderate hotel 1st. Even though PO was very nice, it was sort of a let down since we just left AKL. In the end, I think if I was going to stay the length of time that you are, I would split but make WL the last stop. Have fun!!

I agree with Jake1020---your option #1 sounds like a perfect vacation! I wouldn't split my stay for a shorter visit, but you'll be there long enough to enjoy the change of scenery... Have a wonderful trip.

I go with split the stay. We're staying 12/6 -12/14 4 nights at the Poly & 4 nights at the BWI. Can't wait to try the 2 resorts which are so different. & Disney moves your luggage for you from hotel to hotel which makes it easier. Good luck & have fun :Pinkbounc

Hi!

We are splitting our stay for the first time in December.

YC Dec 4-7
and WL 7-13.

The main reason that we are splitting our time is so we get to try the YC. We love the WL and we have not stayed there yet this year so this is why we did not book for our entire trip at the YC.

If this is your first trip to the WL, you may want to stay for the duration at this one resort.
So much to see and do at the beautiful WL.

Whichever you decide depending on your needs and pocketbook have fun.

Renee

Okay, I am the dissenter on this one. I like one place and NO moving around. I find we lose too much time switching. I would happily stay at WL, our favorite, for the entire trip!

Enjoy your vacation,
penny
