Looking to make something "ethnic".... but not Indian ( I cook Indian once a week ) and not Mexican or Italian.

Looking for something that can be prepared and cooked in less than 90 minutes. And uses 10 or less ingredients that aren't too hard to find.

Even if I don't make it for Friday, there is a good chance I will eventually make it as I love cooking "ethnic". Thanks! :thumbsup2

I made this tonight it is DD's favorite.

Saute chicken cubes (breast or thighs) in a bit of oil or in a good non-stick frying pan - I use thighs, we like dark meat
add clove chopped garlic - cook until almost done

Sauce: I'm a stir and taste kind of cook so nothing exact :)

Sesame Oil - 2 tsp.
Soy sauce - approx 2 tbsp.
Chinese 5 spice - about 1/4 Tsp.
Garlic - 1 clove chopped
White Pepper - dash or 2
Black pepper - shake or 2
Hot chili oil-if you like spicy I add about 1/2 tsp of the peppers from the bottom - I leave this out when making for DD and add it for me!

When the chicken is almost done, on medium high heat, add the sauce and toss until it coats the chicken and starts to thicken. Turn to low until ready to serve.

Serve over white rice or udon noodles (You can buy already cooked udon at the grocery store in the produce section.
Garnish with 2 - 3 chopped green onions and some toasted sesame seeds.
I usually serve with a side of steamed broccoli

Variations:
Add chopped asparagus or broccoli and toss with the meat and noodles all together.

I bought my fresh basil for pesto to mix with cooked shrimp and cooked penne.

3 cups basil leaves, 1/2 cup pignoli nuts, 2/3 cup olive oil, 2 cloves ground garlic, 2/3 cup parmasean, salt & pepper then blend in a mini chopper then pour over cooked penne

We have had this Asian noodle dish before multiple times since we enjoyed it so much. To make it more main dish like we added extra veggies and chunks of tofu.

Saute some coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrot) with an onion and pierogis. Top with shredded cheese. yum!

What about Chinese? General Tso's Chicken doesn't take too long to cook and isn't that expensive to make. Stir fry would be good too!

We LOVE that! But my wife's company ordered lunch today for the employees, and my wife brought home a nice amount that was leftover. So my kids ate it for dinner. :thumbsup2

Have you ever added a meat like chicken?
I love spicy peanut sauces
