Which for 10th anniversary????

  • Keep the Poly Lagoon View we already booked, it will be great!

  • Change to Poly Theme Park View, see the castle!

  • Forget Poly and go with WL concierge (DH's favorite)

  • Beach Club water view (can't beat SAB in July)

You guys will never guess what we ended up doing!!!! After all the talk about our view at the Poly (if we should stick with lagoon or upgrade to theme park view) we realized that since this trip is so important to us, being our 10th anniversary, we really want to feel pampered and special, so we called back to CRO and checked to see which resorts had avialability for concierge with the AP discount. And sure enough, we were able to find space at the YC (concierge garden view)! :thumbsup2 So even though I'm a little sad to not be staying at the Poly this time, they didn't have any availability for concierge level there, I have to say I'm really excited for the YC and trying their concierge. So far we've done the concierge levels at GF, BWI, WL, and AKL. So we sort of know what to expect already. But this is even more exciting now because it's something totally new for us. :)

So I just wanted to update everyone and thank you for your votes! If anyone has any advice about YC concierge or any tips for making our anniversary extra special, feel free to post or PM me! :lovestruc

Currently we are booked for Poly lagoon view for our 10th wedding anniversary this summer. :lovestruc The Poly is definitely my favorite resort so I am thrilled we got an AP rate there. My question is, would you pay an extra $30 a night to upgrade to Theme park view? Or would you stick with regular lagoon view? Garden view is not available. Concierge is not available.

Other options with AP rate.... WL concierge (DH loves this!), BC water view (but we just stayed at BC last week) ....

Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

For $30 a night I'd definitely pay it. I haven't stayed lagoon view at the Poly, only garden, but I think I'd much rather look at the castle (or at least the MK) than the GF or the Contemporary. The Poly has a perfect dead-on view of the MK. If the $30 isn't going to break the bank, do it! And Happy Anniversary!

Personally, I wouldn't pay the extra $30/night b/c you'll already have a great view with a lagoon view.

Have a great trip!!

First, Happy 10th Anniversary. I love the Poly too (although I chose CSR for our 25th anniversary with the free dining). I would stay with what you have and then use those extra dollars for a special dinner out with your DH.

For sure! Pay the extra $30 to see the castle! :) Have a wonderful trip!!

Are you there enough in the evening to really enjoy it? If so, I'd say GO FOR IT!

That's sort of what I'm trying to figure out. I think since we are going alone, no kids, we'll probably sleep in later in the mornings, spend a lot of time at the pool in the afternoon, and then hit the parks at night. I think we'll be spending a lot of time at the resort, especially since we just had 8 days in the parks last week and are already booked for a week in October. This is more of a relaxing trip for DH and I. :cloud9:

I think you just answered your own question, then! ;)

If it were just DH and I, I can see us spending more relaxation time enjoying the balcony and resort room. I can just imagine opening a bottle of champagne and enjoying a glass in the evening while watching the water pageant go by or Wishes in the distance. That's ultimate romance to me!

I think the Magic Kingdom view is the best view you can get no matter the Resort, so I say you should go for it and since it's an anniversary trip make it even more special.

I think it is worth it to upgrade to the castle view, esp since it is your anniversary. It is not really that much of a difference. Have fun and Happy Anniversary!!!

When you stay at the Contemp in Oct 08, will you be tower MK view? If so, I'd lean towards the beachclub. With SAB, and the adult nighttime entertainment at the boardwalk and the world showcase at night, and since you guys are going w/out kids, it's a nicer "adult" place, imo.

As far as I know, *theme park view* doesn't necessarily mean *castle view*... you could have a big tree right in your way (we did once), and there's not much else to see. Unless they've changed it and pruned and/or cut trees to give a castle view to every lagoon view facing the MK, you're not guaranteed a castle view.

Any view at the Polynesian is a great deal. Have a wonderful 10th anniversary!!

If it were me, I would save the money on upgrading to a better view and spend it on something like a couple's massage at the GF spa. You can always get out of your room (you ARE on vacation) and lay on the beach and view the castle all day from there. You can also view the castle from other areas around the resort and gawk at it for as long as you want. Unless if you see yourself sitting on your balcony and looking at the castle instead of going to the pool/beach to view it, then I would forgo the upgrade and use the money on something else that may end up being more romantic. It depends on how many days you are going also. If you are going for just 3 days or so, then upgrade; but if you are staying for 10 days, then $300 is looking like it could be used on a few other things.

I think the YC conceirge sounds wonderful for an anniversary!! Good choice!! Save the poly for a family trip.

Enjoy your anniversary!!
