I go every year with my ds who is now 13. Don't know how many more years he will go with me. I am trying to decide if I want a 7 day or 10 day ticket. I am definitely buying park hopper, plus and no expiration. Difference in price is $56 a ticket. We usually do 4 days at parks, 2 at water parks and now that DQ is a plus, we will be doing 1 day at dq. Some people have been saying that the new tickets will have your finger scan so I am worried that if I buy the 10 day and then he does not want to go I won't be able to give the ticket to someone else (to go with me). Any advice would be nice.

You won't be able to give the ticket to anyone else according to everything that's being posted and written on various websites. The new tickets have your name on them and if the bioscan fails they can ask for identification. If the name on the ticket doesn't match your id, they can refuse entry.

How many days are you planning on spending in the parks? Why not just get a ticket that expires for your son? I assume you're trying to buy days for a future trip, but lets say you buy the 10 day premium hopper and add the no expiration. That ticket is $401.50 if you order in advance, so you've paid basically $40.15 per day for your admission. But if you buy a 10 day premium hopper with NO expiriation that will run you $295 in advance, a savings of $106.50. OK, now lets say you go in the park for 7 days on your trip. Each of those 7 days cost you $40.15 with the non expiring ticket. Each of the 7 days with the expiring ticket will cost you $42.14 per day ($295/7). So there's only a difference of $2 per day but you've saved $106.50 up front, and you wouldn't have to worry about your son not going again in the future. Just something to consider. If you're not going in for 7 days, you just have to keep working the numbers on the different tickets to see where the breakeven point is for you. I hope that wasn't too confusing.

What is your son's favorite park? Overall what are the 4-5 favorite must-dos for him at 13 years old? Knowing these answers might help determine whether he will still want to do Disney for another 2 years.

Even if he doesn't want to do Disney and opts for US/IOA my children always wanted to go for at least a day and hit their favorites at Disney as well...and the plusses are really nice for teens since nobody can beat Disney's waterparks and they can lose themselves at least once a trip in DQ.

My guess is at 13 he'll get his full use out of a 10 day over the years even if he doesn't want to do a total Disney vacation after this year (which might not even be the case lol...teens are funny creatures...)

In addition, if you go to http://mousesavers.com/ and sign up for Mary's newsletter you will get a link that will enable you to get the 10 day premium hopper no expiration ticket for quite a bit less than $401...enough less so that you could buy over a dozen mickey bars with the savings per ticket! Plus if you pick the tickets up (they'll mail them for free to you) instead of having them mailed they give you a free 20min phone card, 2 free miniature golf admissions and lots of other offers and coupons.

Mary's is the only other site I go to besides this one for Disney information. I think both Mousesavers and The Dis are the cream of the crop for info, help and discounts!
