We always do WDW, I was looking for something different this trip...but both my kids (7 and 8) do not meet height req't for Dueling Dragons, Dr Doom Fearfall and Hulk..there are also 3 rides that get you very wet and we're going in December...I'm thinking it might be cold. Avg temp is 63. We're also staying on property at WDW so I'm worried about lines at IOA with no benefit of express pass... Should I pass on IOA this trip or is it REALLY worth it and different?

You might want to post this over here http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30 you will get more responses. As for your question there is still lots for your little ones to do! The veterens will stop by and give you better details and ideas but Seuss Landing is a big hit with the little ones for sure and most adults love that area too.

I'll move the thread over to the Universal Studios/IoA forum.

Well, at your kids ages, there are still other things to do at IOA that they would probably love. Seuss Landing is incredibly themed and has some cute rides. The Jurassic area has the Discovery Center with cute interactive stuff and there is Camp Jurassic as well. I don't know if they are tall enough, but Spiderman is awesome. As to the weather, hard to say. We went in December in 07 and had great weather, except the last day when a storm came through. Rode the water rides and got soaked...did Bluto over and over and over! Son and I also did Ripshaw a few times (DH is a scaredy cat).

There's also the Studios to consider. Lots to do there, a lot inside so weather is not a problem. You didn't mention the Studios, so not sure... Have you been there?

Personally, we'd hit the Uni parks every chance we got!

You don't say when you are going in December. We were there the 2nd week and crowds were very manageable, even without FOTL. Get there at park opening and you will get a lot done before the big crowds roll in.

I think your kids would love IOA and would have a blast playing in Seuss Landing and could spend hours there.

As far as the weather goes...the high temps can be anywhere from the upper 50's to the 80's...there's no way of telling what it's going to do. I wouldn't ride any water rides in December unless it's a heat wave going on.

December isn't very busy until after Christmas so the Express Pass isn't needed until after Christmas.
