Help me convince my wife to stay at the Cabins!!

As you can tell by my name I love Ft Wilderness and the Cabins. We actually stayed there when they were trailers instead of Cabins. Haven't stayed for a while now and recently became DVC Members but without a doubt will be back.
Hope you get to stay there and know this ....I will be jealous !

Good evening! I want to thank you for posting this thread. You helped take a huge load off of my shoulders. Several months ago, I booked a 5-bedroom house for DH, DD/DH, and 3 grandsons. My son + sweetie also will drop in. While I was happy with the large house, it wasn't Disney.

Sure there were murals on the wall...but it wasn't Disney. When I read your post, I suddenly pictured us all sharing two cabins and it all made sense. I could afford this. And we would all get to experience the humongous amount of activities the resort offers in addition to cooking our own food.

I've stayed in AKL, Port Orleans, and Grand Floridian just last month. They've all been great. Try it and if you like it go back, if you don't try a different resort.
It's the experience with your loved ones which makes the trip. Enjoy!

The bus as well as at certain times of year the boat both make stops at WL. The last few trips in Jan the boat was direct, not sure if this is seasonal. The bus stopped at WL also on the way back to Fort.

I just love hearing the sounds of the boyar horns, :rotfl2: (specially at night)

new word,,I like that :)

We just got back, and the boats to MK in the AM and near closing were all direct, with no stops at WL. During the non peak afternoon hours, the boats were shared with WL.

Buses were similar, peak times we had dedicated buses, mid day we shared with WL

Boat takes you to MK with a stop at WL (perhaps). We've ridden when they did not stop. Buses from the front of the Campground at the entrance which takes you to specific parks. Since we have not used them cannot say if WL is the first stop on the bus loop or the second. Internal bus system loops through the resort and depending on where your cabin is (and if you like to explore) would determine which color bus you take.

Thanks everyone. Hisgirl - your welcome, staying at the cabins never really passed my mind until I came across a blog all about Fort Wilderness. I stayed on the webpage and read everything about the cabins and was hooked and determined to stay there one day. After hearing everybody's experience staying at the cabins and hearing how unique and fun they are, i'm so hoping I can persuade my wife into staying here. I've been reading all the posts to her and I think she is coming around! Wish me luck lol!!
