Help me choose

Hi,

My Mom and I are planning a trip in May. We think we might want a deluxe (only stayed at value & mod) and can't decide between AKL, Poly or Beach Club. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I never stayed at AKL or Beach Club, but I did get to stay at the Poly the first week in July this year. We liked it so much that we are already planning a return trip for next July. It is an absolute paradise.

Personally, I love AKL. A savannah view room is a great place to relax and watch the animals. You can go to the parks and then back to the resort where it is away from the hustle and bustle. There are also good restaurants-Boma and Jiko to go to. Mara is also good for fast food. The pool isn't as busy as the pool area at Beach club but it is a nice place to take it easy. After running around the parks all day, AKL is a great place to return to, to watch the animals and forget about the outside world for a while.

Well now you have a vote for all 3, cuz I like Beach Club the best, mainly because you have the BW and swan and dolphin and yacht club right there and you are close to mgm and epcot and you can either walk or take a boat to get there. It's a beautiful resort in a wonderful location.

I have only stayed at the Poly only bad thing for me no hot tub.

If you think you will spend the most time at Epcot & MGM then pick BC.

If you think being on the Monorail line would be great then pick Poly.

And of course if you love animals the go for AKL.


On August 19 the updated verisionof WDW for Couples comes out, they have wonderful descibtions of the resorts, that might help.

Stay at the hotel nearest to park that you want to visit the most. This works great for BC (Epcot/MGM) and Poly (MK). However, AKL is great and of course close to AK but the farthest away from the other parks. However, if you would like to sit on your porch and watch the animals everyday and enjoy a beautiful pool, then you have to stay at AKL. You may also want to split your stay between two of these resorts. Either way have fun planning your trip.
