I'm not going until next May but have been thinking about ADRs already

What do you solo veterans (or first time solo'ers) think? I'm determined to return to restaurants I've eaten at before and enjoyed (but obviously solo this time), as well as trying new ones.

Lunch:
GF Cafe
Tutto Itallia
Raglan Road

Dinner:
Blue Zoo (love this place!)
Fultons
Narcoosees
Flying Fish
GF Cafe

Any other suggestions?

I'd like to do a breakfast, particularly at Crystal Palace as I really like the food there, but I'm a little unsure about doing a character breakfast by myself.

Although my trip wasn't solo, I did eat alone on two occasions on my last trip. I ate at Tutto Italia for dinner and the service was horrible. It was very slow and the waiter ignored me alot for other customers sitting around me. I also ate at Tonys by myself and they couldn't have been more attentive. My waitress was very nice and always checking on me and asking if I needed anything else. She even gave me a toy to take back to my granddaughter and a pin. I would try Tonys again if I ate alone but not Tutto Italia. Also the food was not very good there.

Thanks for the advice re. Tutto, don't know if I like the sound of that now. Will have to rethink my Epcot lunch I think.

Funny but in my 5 trips since 2000, I've not eaten at any of these. I had Raglan Road on my radar this last trip, but never made it over there. I'd also like to make it to Artist Point sometime. Places I've been and really like- Tea at the Garden View Lounge is a really nice late lunch and I enjoy Boma, Kona and Le Cellier for dinner.

I found solo dining at character meals to be surprisingly great! For many solo trips, I avoided character meals because I thought it would be "wierd" to go there solo. But once I got my courage up, I found it so enjoyable to watch the characters interacting with the children. And a tip on pictures-I just tell the character, "I'd love it if I could get a picture with you. Invariably, the character grabs my camera, hands it to someome and motions for them to take our picture. No one says no to Mickey!
Of the resturants you mentioned, I've only eaten solo at Narcoose's amdGF Cafe, both great choices.

I was just there in late May.

I did Tutto Italia and was very pleased with both the service and food. I'd also recommend California Grill although it has ruined me for dessert almost everywhere else around Phoenix. Man that Valrhona Chocolate cake is amazing.

oh yeah, also did the Garden Grill and the food was really tasty and the character interactions were pretty good there as well.

The Biergarten is a great place to have lunch at Epcot. You are seated with other people, and the food is really good.

I agree with Tracy on Biergarten... I also really like Park Fare at GF ...Akershus at Norway is nice because you get the free pics with the princess.....Ohana at Polynesian is great food and fun as well. I was NOT impressed with Coral Reef at all..but then again maybe I just had a bad experience but will not be back..... Chef de France and LeCellier are also great food...
The staff always goes out of their way to make dining pleasurable for the solo diner I have found so anywhere will be fine:)

Another vote for the Biergarten!! That's my family's favorite. Pretty reasonable prices too.

My favorite restaurant in all of WDW is Bistro de Paris. It's the upstairs for Chefs. Terrific Service, Marvelous food and desserts, and top notch service. It's a bit expensive but makes for a great evening!! :thumbsup2

Although most solos like the idea of being seated with other people (and I used to agree), let me give you an example of the other side of it. Last year I was at the former Teppenyaki and looking forward to the communal dining. But the poor teenaged girl I was sitting next to obviously was sure she'd been sentenced to some form of H****L by having to sit next to a middle-aged, high school teacher. My attempts to be friendly and ask about her vacation were met with monosyllabic grunts. And the resturant is too loud to yell across to anyone else. At the end of our meal, I learned that her mother, sitting on the other side, was also a high school teacher (and of the same subject). Too bad they didn't switch seats-everyone would have been so much happier.

Thanks everyone :goodvibes

Simba's Mom - this is the sort of thing that is putting me off slightly, I'd hate to be sat on a table with other people and no-one is talking - at least if I eat by myself I don't have to worry about others talking.
