I am working on booking a trip for November 2016 (I know, it's a LONG time away).

I was set on booking a Garden Wing room at Contemporary which is where we stayed during our last trip. We will have a 5, 2, and 1 year old at the time of our trip so the ability to put them in the stroller and walk to/from MK is huge for us! It made our last trip so easy to not have to lug 2 kids and a stroller on the busses every day and we tend to spend most of our time at MK.

To the point-- I got online to check out prices last night (which it IS allowing me to do online at 499 days btw) and started looking at Poly & Wilderness Lodge as well. I would love to try a new resort this trip BUT I'm wondering if the convenience factor of the Contemporary outweighs the fun of trying something new? I know Poly is on the monorail but after MK closing, even those lines can be pretty long.

Anyone who has done Disney with 3 young children have opinions?

This won't be our last trip so I can always keep WL & Poly on our bucket list for the future, but I would love some outside opinions to help me think all of this through.

TIA!

When my 3 were 6,5,&5 we stayed at the Poly. We tended not to stay that late at MK but if we saw the monorail line was long we took the resort boat back. The boat stopped at the Grand Floridian first and then the Poly. Definitely not faster than the monorail but definitely felt better that we weren't waiting in a line and were heading 'home'!

If you love the Contemporary and found it worked well for your family, I think you should stick with it. Like you said it won't be your last trip and maybe another resort will work better for you when they are a little bigger.
Have fun planning!

We just stayed in a Cabin at Fort Wilderness. Not as close to MK as the monorail resorts but the boat ride over there is very nice.

Our kids are older than yours but it was nice having a seperate bedroom and a full size kitchen.

Fort Wilderness is very peacefull and there are tons of family activities.

We have stayed at all three resorts (mind you not with small child). My two kids are now 10 and 8, but we started going to Disney since my youngest was 3.

The first resort we stayed at was the Poly. It is very easy to get to MK even with a stroller. You can just caught the monorail and take it over or ride the boat. The one problem we found a couple of weeks ago is that the monorail is not as dependable as it once was. There were a lot times that it was down. The boat ride over to MK is nice but you might have to fold up your stroller and the other problem is lighting. We also ran into this problem our last trip. The boats that run from the Poly to MK do not run when there is lighting with in 2 miles. I would think that in November you will to have that big of a problem with lighting.

The other nice thing about the Poly is you can walk to the TTC. This makes it easy to catch the monorail to EPCOT and you can also catch the ferry to MK. Plus you can walk to the Grand if you have any ADRs or just want to look around.

As far as WL goes you can take a boat to MK which is a bigger than the boats at the Poly or if I remember correctly there is now a bus (do not quote me on the bus). The boats are nice but they can get a little hot if you sit inside. There is no AC on them. Also if I remember correctly there is a boat between WL, the camp ground and the Contemporary.

I hope that helps.

I think if you are looking for something different, you should stay at Wilderness Lodge. It would be a great experience for the kids and there is never a long line for the boat. I've never had any problems using it but you will have to use buses for the other parks.

koho: had to read it a second time. I guess you mean lightning rather than lighting

We have stayed at WL twice and CR once this last trip. I love the theme of WL better but with three little ones I didn't enjoy the double stroller folding and storing on the boats. I wouldnt choose WL while you have little ones with a double stroller. Also construction will probably be in full swing by then at WL for the villas. I think the Poly would be a good option too with little ones. Fun water splash area and pool - it looks better to me than the CR pool.
