If you've stayed at both I'm looking for your thoughts for a mid-November visit. Let me start by saying we love the Candy Cane Inn and the only reason I'm even considering the Park Vue Inn is the location as one in our party has bad knees and the walk across the street to and from the park would be a game changer for them.

I've not stayed at the PVI so my comments are based on what I know to be true of the CCI and what I can see in photos and reviews about PVI.

I love the intimacy of the CCI. Love the remodel. Yes, the rooms are small, but well done and the rooms and property in general are so clean and well kept. The landscaping is beautiful, the layout of the property, the pool (even though it's in the parking lot they've created a welcoming little oasis--the pool atmosphere is important to us), the included breakfast and shuttle, the staff and yes, I can see how they decorate for Christmas from photographs and I love their attention to detail. We don't spend a large amount of time in our hotel when at the parks, but when we're there I want to feel like I'm still on vacation. Details are important to me. We love it there.

The Park Vue doesn't do anything for me, although I can see that it gets good reviews and the location is unbeatable. I know that we would all appreciate that especially for the mid-day breaks as the CCI shuttle doesn't work for our timeline the majority of the time, although we love it when it does.

I'm worried if I book the PVI, although I might be pleasantly surprised, I feel like I'm going to wish we were at the CCI the whole time.

Help me please!

I have stayed at both. While PVI did a great job with the refresh on their rooms last year….CCI is a nicer property. Like you said, they did an amazing remodel to CCI. They charm of the property plus the included breakfast and the great remodeled rooms makes it a win. Have you considered maybe renting a scooter for the person with bad knees? Even if they don’t use it much in the parks, it might be worth it just for going to and from the hotel. They could just ride it in the parks from one land to the other and park it if they don’t want to be on it all day long. We rented from D&R mobility at the grand legacy and the scooter was great. Held a charge all day. Just another option to consider.

And don’t get me wrong. We absolutely love PVI. We love how easy it is to pop back to our room. It’s one of our favorites. But we don’t usually use the pools or hang out on the property. If we did, CCI would be our choice.

For us it's PVI. CCI is very nice if you need breakfast (we always get breakfast in the parks) and a bit of nicer room, but we love the convenience of walking back to the room for a break, or to change clothes after a especially tragic run on Tiana's or Grizzly River.

Slosh...slosh..slosh...slosh... 🤣

If you're not already renting a scooter, I second that idea. If they aren't wholly needed, they are still great for getting from the hotel to the parks, moving to different lands, park hopping, etc. If you have a scooter that solves the CCI distance issue. If you aren't getting a scooter you could use Uber/Lyft to get back and forth. Ubering from the ride share lot can be kind of a pain. We like to exit at the Grand California and have our rideshare pick us up there. You could walk across the street and have a rideshare pick you up at one of the hotels there too. I am a self declared hotel snob and am always disappointed when I make compromises on my hotel. I have never stayed at PVI, so I can't speak to that hotel specifically, fyi.

The candy cane Inn is very sweet. I’ve stayed there and I have no complaints. Other than the walk is just a little too far when you’re walking by the hotels right across the street.

I think you should stay right across the street. If not Park view inn, then the Tropicana, Camelot Inn or the best Western Park place inn

Thank your thoughts. I booked the CCI and we'll rent the scooter if they need it.

Your comment reiterated what I already know about myself so I booked the CCI as I know I'd be comparing and disappointed to be elsewhere. Scooter even used primarily to and from the park when the shuttle doesn't work for us is a great idea. Thank you.

Just wanted to mention that it would be a good idea to book your scooter ahead of time and cancel if you change your mind rather than wait to book one.

I considered one during my May trip and assumed I could get one same day if I decided I needed it, but no scooters were available at the various rental places in the area. You could get one at Disneyland if you are there early enough, but you wouldn't be able to take it off property back to your hotel.

Thank you - excellent idea!
