Help me choose a TS dinner, please!

I need a TS dinner for our day at DHS. With young children, we prefer Character Meals for lots of reasons, but our kids wouldn't really care about the Hollywood & Vine characters so unless the food was outstanding, it wouldn't be worth it.

The other TS options at DHS aren't very appealing to us - we did 50's PTC once and it was okay, but honestly, I was on edge that I'd be yelled at for something, like when I didn't set out the silverware to avoid our 1 year old playing with it and making it fall on the floor... I know they're joking, but I just didn't like it that much. I may be willing to try it again, I haven't decided. We're not really interested in any of the other TS restaurants, either.

So we need to choose a resort place, I guess. I would have done Chef Mickey's, but the only available times are too late for dinner for us. Any other great suggestions? We need something that's on the DDP, and it definitely doesn't have to be character, just child-friendly and fun.

go with Cape May cafe . they have a Goofy breakfast., with characters,

I don't know about any character dinners at the epcot resorts. cape may had a dinner buffet, but no characters.

they might have a charcter dinner at the Swan, but, if so, it's not on the DDP

or, you could just do 2 CS on DHS day, and 2 TS another day. the DDp is a lot of food. you could do 2 CS on DHS day, and do the Hoop de Doo Revue another day!!(2TS credits.. no characters, but a fun show!)

We love Ohana for dinner as well as Whispering Canyon Cafe.

How about Prime time cafe or Sci fi? Prime time is great old fashion kind of place and the waiters are real characters, at sci fi you feel like you are in an old fashioned drive in but stick to burgers and fries type of food. Both place are fun and kids like them.

We didn't care for Prime Time, either. Food was just "eh" or below. I know you said you weren't interested in the other options, but we actually did enjoy the food at Mama Melrose's. As far as resort dining goes, we always enjoy Boma and Kona Cafe. 1900 Park Fare has been increasingly more miss than hit for us, although it does have characters. Have heard good things about Cape May, but haven't tried it yet (will in Jan)

Thanks for all the options!! I don't know why it's so hard for me to choose one more. I think it's because I'd rather do Chef Mickey's or another of the TS restaurants in Epcot, but I'm not getting park hoppers just for that.

Is Mama Melrose's kid-friendly?

Whispering Canyon is in Wilderness Lodge, right? How far is that from DHS or from Pop? (We'll have a car)

We did 1900 Park Fare for dinner last year and thought it was okay, but I think Lady Tremaine intimidated my DD, haha! We'll do it for breakfast this time to try out the other characters, so I'd prefer to choose something else.

Is Mama Melrose's kid-friendly?

We found it to be (our daughters were 3 and 6 when we ate there). My kids love pasta, so they enjoyed their meal. And I found the food to be much better than expected.

we wil be at mama melrose in a few weeks, so I can't tell you yet.

sci fi? I think your kids are too young to know anything about drive in theatres. and too young to get a kick out of the "old" sci fi" black and white movies.
I think this will go by the wayside, no kids or even teens can relate to any of this. and the food is just so-so.

we don't get park hoppers, either.. way too pricey. sometimes we think, wel, if we had the hopper, we could eat at such and such restaurant... but. is it worth XXXX amount of dollars??? nope.
I would iether do prime time, or go to cape may, or probably use 2 CS that day, and use 2 TS another day, or do a signature for 2 cs another day.

You all are so great, THANK YOU!! I was just about to book Whispering Canyon when I happened to check Chef Mickey's again and it just got availability, so woohoo! We've never been there and are excited to try it. Hooray!
