Going to US/IOA 1st week in August...
its been many moons since I was there .....

Last time rode Back to the Future and entire family was sore and sick due to jerkiness of the ride.... Is the Simpsons the same car thing you ride in? Just want to make sure if we should pass if it is....

now onto the world of Harry Potter.....we are staying off property...will have one 13 yr old in a wheel chair but she can transfer....
is there handicapped parking? Is there wheel chair rental close to the hanidcapped parking? Once we enter the park, are there folkes telling us where to go to line up to get into WWOHP? I dont want to head for the wrong line as we are planning on getting there early (7:15 or so) and I know they let on site people in at 8:00 and I just want to make sure we are in the right line for the off site folkes..

also, was looking at getting express passes but we will need to with the wheelchair or is there special lines for them? I know FJ they can go into regular q...we only have our wheelchair friend for one day, when we go to US she will not be with us so we will for sure purchase the express passes...just didnt know if we would need at IOA? (only experiance was at WDW with mom in wheel chair, anything she went on there was a special line that was much shorter wait) Just trying to figure out best plan of attack...since we only have two days, one for each park, plus the heat & the crowd and the wheel chair will be harder to get around with the crowds of WWOHP. Thank you all so much!!!!

I was at IOA last week and in a wheel chair. I, too, was able to transfer. Depending on the issue the wc rider has, the moving belt to get on to FJ is quite fast and I wasn't sure I made the right decision to do a transfer on my own, but I did and it was ok. They do have the ability to stop and slow it down you just need to tell them transfer is an issue.

The other rides/attractions, you are pretty much in the same queue as everyone else. The only time I was put in a different line was at some of the attractions/shows.

Also, I did not ride Simpsons, from what I understand it is similar to Back to the Future.

Good Luck

Same car different movie. Wonderful ride, a shame it's too rough for you. For us it's a never-miss.

I'm going to disagree with Purseval. I rode Back to the Future once - and, for me, that was enough. I had a sore neck and back for a good couple of days afterwards, it was so jerky and uncomfrotable.

For that reason, I was reluctant to ride The Simpsons ride last October since I figured it was the same ride vehicle just reconfigured and re-themed. well, I didn't find it half as bad as BTTF. Yes, it is a simulator still so quite jerky, lots of movement but nowhere near as bad as it was. I would definitely say to give it a go - the theming is great and it's a vast improvement :thumbsup2

We will be at Universal/IOA at the end of August also :)

I had never ridden BTTF so cannot compare what it was like, but.............I was so ill coming off the Simpsons

I`m ok with any rollercoaster and fine with Spiderman.............but I will never ever do that ride again!!

But DH and DS loved it......so I will happily sit outside whilst they do it again this year :thumbsup2

But if you don`t give it a go .......you`ll never know :)

I stopped riding BTTF because I'm 6'2" and always got stuck in the back row on the end. You know what that does to my head? It wasn't pretty so I was in the same boat you're in. I was hoping The Simpsons would be different but alas...same back row and same trauma on my head. I don't ride it any longer.

My family laughs because I got off Back to the Future moaning I need a cold Coke because I felt so sick and my husband vowed to never squash his body back into that car. We were hoping that the Simpson vehicle had been modifiied too. Oh well, I will take a dramamine and let my husband be surprised!

How can you get "stuck" in the back row? All you have to do is stand near the door during the preshow then get in the front. Personally I like the back row, especially for new riders (we'll have 2 with us this next visit) because you can't see the other simulators and it immerses you more into the ride. But then again I'm only 5'10", I can see where it would create problems for taller people. But even if you have no choice but to ride in the back choose one of the 2 middle seats and you'll still be okay.

Wilma-Bride, if you rode BTTF a lot you can see where it makes the same movements in the Simpsons as it did in the original ride. The easiest is when the car gets swallowed by the T-Rex vs the Baby but once you start clicking things together you can see a lot of movements that were exactly the same.

I have been on the simpsons twice, which is one more than I should have. the attraction is fun, the movie is fun, but it makes me dizzy and kind of sick to my stomach. i am done with it. also banged my head in the back as i used to in BTTF. Shame they couldn't have at least fixed that.
