we are a party of 6. 4 of us and 2 friends. I guess we are all on the same dining plan but what happened was1 of the friends inadvertently used up the rest of OUR (the 4 or us) TS credits. He didn't realize how it works, went to a sig restaurant x2 and ended up using ours so we are all out now. I was told at Akershus that if we go back to our resort. (AKV) they can sortof separate out so he can be charged and we can be credited back? It is sort of a mess and not what we want to be spending our afternoon doing. :( Any advice???? tiA!

The easiest thing to do would be to look at your remaining ADRs plus the Akershus meal and have your friend buy you gift cards for the amount of those meals then you just pay using the gift cards. Since it sounds like you charged Akershus to your room you can just give a CM at the front desk gift cards to cover that room charge.

but then we are still losing out i think on snack credits etc since they are allotted per fam rather then person - just kind of a mess

Yep, nothing you can do if he used all of the credits allocated to your room except get him to pay you back.

He used all of your snacks too? I'm not following too well. Are you on the regular or deluxe plan? Are all six of you staying in the same room?

No, your friend's use of your TS credits at the Signatures would not have any impact on your snack or QS credits. Unless that person used extra snack and/or QS credits, those should still be on your reservation.

You only mentioned TS credits. To keep it simple just figure out an average price for what you would typically spend per credit that he used and have him buy you gift cards so you can pay for your food.

You asked for simplest. There probably is a frustrating complicated way to get this straightened out so that you have credits but IMO having him buy gift cards for you to cover the cost of the food is easiest.

Actually, even easier would be to charge it all to the room and have him pay it off. Just make sure that the only things you charge to the room would have otherwise been paid for using credits. Bring some other form of payment with you for anything else.

I can't imagine that the resort would be able to charge him the cash value of whatever he ate so that they can restore your credits, unless he has the receipts, and even then if you are all on the same dining plan anybody can use the credits.

I also think that trying to get the resort to sort this out is going to be time consuming and possibly fruitless. I agree that the easiest thing to do is ask your friend to pay for three adult meals at some point in the future of your trip or reimburse you for three of adult meals at Akershus. That's probably the easiest because you know how much that cost already and it's a flat rate (albeit, an expensive meal).

Thank you all for responding - your answers all make sense, i think i'm just frustrated overall that we didnt think to keep this separate - he was told but didn't understand the use of qs and snack credits and used up so many

He used several of your TS, plus most of your CS and snacks?

He's going to owe you quite a bit. Must have been hungry.

With multiple people on one reservation, it's always a good idea to make sure each person understands how many credits are theirs to use.

How did he use up all the counter service meals and snacks too? If they are in your room, you'd think they would be touring with you. I'd have him reimburse everyone for the cost of the dining plans on a per day basis that he used up.

I'm pretty shocked that someone would do that to the rest of their party and not even ask how many meals per day he was entitled to.

If I'm understanding you correctly, he used up all 6 people's TS credits by before you could use Day 5's TS meals for your family, and he did this with 2 people???

That means that there were a total of 42 CS meals, 42 TS meals and 42 snack credits. So in 4 days, your family used 16 TS meals, and he used 26 TS meals??? That equals 13 TS credits/person, which is over 3/day/person instead of one. How do you do that "by accident"??? How did you not notice that the number of meals left were showing low when you ate your earlier meals?

I'd be beyond ticked, but I don't think that ANY of the blame belongs to Disney.

I'll echo everyone else, figure out what he used that he wasn't entitled to, and have him pay you for it. Charge it to the room, have him give you cash, or whatever works for you guys.

Disney shouldn't have to untangle the mess, IMO. Never mind the fact that figuring it out yourself is going to be easier for everyone involved. Your friend caused it, you didn't lose the credits because of something on their end. Disney really doesn't need to be involved.
