Help! Location recommendation at CSR, please.

CSR experts... we've settled on staying at CSR for our September trip. I'm super excited to try a new resort, and am goiong to book sometime in the next few days.

While we're there, we'll have a rental car to bus stop locations are not a priority for us. We'd like to be a reasonable distance to the food court (5-7 min walk?) but we'd like to be very close to the Dig site. I suspect our little guy (he'll have just turned 4 years old) is going to LOVE the pool and playground, so we'd like to be close by. I would prefer a location that's a little quieter as I'm a light sleeper, so we also don't want to be right on top of the play areas.

Where should we request to be located? I have no issue with paying a little extra to choose a preferred room if that would be our best option.

The best section for your needs would be cabanas. They are very popular with families traveling with kids because they are closest to the Dig Site but not too far from the main building.

Our favorite is cabana 8A. Other good choices are the other cabanas (8B, 9A and 9B), casitas 4 and 5 (5 is closer to the Dig Site, 4 is closer to the main building), and Ranchos 7B. 7B would be the quietest, and it is also close to a quiet pool and laundry. It's probably more like 10 minutes to the food court with 4-year old legs, though. The casitas are closer to the food court than the main pool, but the distance isn't too bad from 4 or 5 to the Dig Site.

Preferred rooms are in casitas 1, 2 and 3 - close to the food court, but ten minutes to the main pool.

The Dig Site (pool, playground, arcade) is surrounded by vegetation and there are no rooms that overlook the main pool, so you don't need to worry about hearing noise from the Dig Site in your room.

The person that maintains the official CSR thread has some wonderful information regarding the buildings and desired locations. I would also check over there as well for the actual descriptions of each area, which would determine what would best fit your needs.

Thanks to you too, Missytara. I've been through the CSR thread, but found that many of the points were based around convenience to bus stops, as well as the landmarks I mentioned. I didn't quite find what I was looking for, so I created this post.
