Right now I have us going to MGM on Tuesday--now I realize that it's one of the new EMH things at night and MGM will be open three extra hours that night. I had planned on us going to lunch at Sci-Fi (12:05 PS), doing the HWV Fantasmic pkg for dinner (7pm PS). But now I'm worried that it's going to be mobbed w/ the EMH. I tried to change my PSs to Monday (Sci-Fi and HWV are both avail at decent times), but we currently have Chef Mickey on Monday nite and it's not available on Tuesday nite.

So here's the bottom line: In your opinion (and I've relied heavily on those so far and not been disappointed!), would you change your plans to do Fantasmic on Monday and miss Chef Mickey's altogether or keep everything the way it is (CM on Monday, MGM/Fantasmic on Tues)?

I'm sorry if this isn't clear. I'm a little stressed out. As an aside my grandpa just died, we put his wife/my grandma in a nursing home b/c of alzheimers, my brother was scheduled to go to Iraq on 5/15 (he's a marine) but just called to say it was cancelled for now, and I'm trying to pack for Disney!!!! Frankly, I'm a little nutso. Thank goodness for Magic and Disney.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your grandpa and your grandma

No one knows how many more people the Evening EMH will attract - I think because it is still not prime busy time that your Tuesday plans will work just fine

We plan on being at MGM that night

thanks

First, sorry to hear about the stresses in the family, you certainly deserve the trip to WDW!
Second, about changing your plans...I wouldn't change anything. I don't think the nights will be anymore crowded than the MK nights when they had the E-Ride nights. We always had a good experience with those nights and were able to see and do everything with virtually no wait at all. I think you should give it a shot that night and leave your plans the way they are. It won't be open fo EVERYONE, so enjoy it and report back on how the crowds were. I wouldn't worry too much. Have fun!!!

It sounds like this trip is just what you need right now. I agree with the other posters, don't stress over the PS', keep them. Wishing you lots of pixie dust and a magical vacation!:wizard:

Hope you have the wonderful vacation you certainly deserve.

Remember, most people will not realize that EMH was changed. Hard to believe but not every dis's and many people did not receive the postcard, myself included.

We've always done Chef Mickey for breakfast which is another option. It is very enjoyable and a wonderful way to start the day in MK.

Have a great trip!!

I hope you have a wonderful trip. Sorry to hear about your grandparents. Hopefully your brother won't have to go at all!!!

Heres sending you lots of pixie dust and :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

You guys are the greatest. I was getting overwhelmed and just needed some extra input. I knew I could count on the DISers! Today I woke up, read the posts, and am feeling much more in the Disney mood! I'm packing and getting ready. And I'm just going to keep our plan the same and go with the flow. I think I was mostly stressing about it because I needed to exert some sort of control over something in my life!

Thanks again. I appreciate the input.

Could you switch your mornings? I'm not sure what you have planned for Monday morning, but could you do MGM that morning and eat at Sci Fi, then do your original evening plan with Chef Mickey's that evening. Then Tuesday, do whatever you have planned for Monday, hop over to MGM for H&V and Fantasmic. I wouldn't worry about crowds at MGM Tuesday night if your main goal is to see Fantasmic. By using the dinner package, you've guaranteed yourself a seat at the show. However, I wouldn't want to be there in the early afternoon because I think a lot of on-site people will see "Park After Dark at MGM" and just spend the whole day there.

They will have the new EMH test on the World Update you get when you check in to your resort. I suspect that the resort CM's will be instructed to make sure that everyone understands the EMH test because Disney is doing a test for a reason: they want to know how it will affect park attendance and what people think of it. There is no point in doing the test if no one knows about it.

That being said, I do expect the EMH park to be more crowded than usual. However, with no idea how much more crowded it will be and with the knowledge that May isn't that crowded to begin with, I see no point in changing your plans for any other reason besides to take advantage of the new EMH. No one knows what it will do the the EMH park's attendence, so it is out of your control and there is no point stressing about it.

These new nightime emh will be great! We bought tix to MNSSHP party in 1999 where they stayed open late. The first hour was a nightmare!!! But after that, it was so empty the CM's were calling people over to ride the big rides - Splash Mountain, etc. I hope it will be the same way. I might add, the tix to MNSSHP were about $100 for the 4 of us!
