I would not describe Regent Park as "lovely".

There are nice hotels in the theatre district (King Street) if you want to be downtown.
There is a Holiday Inn on Bloor St. right by the subway station. (280 Bloor St). It should be fairly decent and is in a nice area. You could walk to the ROM, subway to downtown and visit the very quirky Bata Shoe Museum just across the street.
Plenty of nicely priced hotels at the airport.
A nice little boutque-style hotel with good food just outside of the downtown area is called the Valhalla Inn. Both the airport hotels and Valhalla would be good for access to Wonderland.
