Help! Just bought annual pass and kind of nervous.

we DON'T live 25 min away...we live 1200 miles away. if we have an AP, we generally go 3 time in a year (once year i think we went 5 times!). we save on food with the TIW and we are totally spoiled by the free valet parking with the TIW. We also love the room discounts--our AP saved us $$$ on our AoA ressie for next month.

with an AP, we make a reason to go! and we enjoy it.

so, if i was going twice a year, i'd get an AP. only one trip, i wouldn't.

we have APs in our pockets right now with 4 trips planned over the 12 month period. It pays off for us.

Wow that's awesome!! You've made me feel better. I live about 600 miles away. I suppose in my case it's not going to save me money because I'm going to spend way more money trying to go all the time. Haha! We'll see how this year goes. If its bad I just won't renew. Lesson learned.

We're getting PAPs next year. Staying in Kissimmee for 2 or 3 months. I plan on getting 20-30 park days out of mine and dh will likely golf just as much. Then there are the Atlanta Braves pre season games.
I can't wait!

I'm not totally sure, but I think if you spend more than 10 days in the parks APs are a better idea than regular tickets. Then any room, merch, dining discounts are extras.

The major problem with Annual Passes concerns when they are in a drawer more than 100 miles from Disney World and they whine a lot and scream:

Use Me!

:thumbsup2

Exactly how we ended up with another trip in May...gotta squeeze the last few days out of those passes! :rolleyes1

And to the OP: When we purchased our passes, we calculated our savings based upon the 2 trips we had officially planned. It wasn't a ton of savings at that time - maybe $250 or so, but still a savings. The 10% merchandise discount was a bonus for us and we have "saved" a LOT over 2 trips using it. We have also saved another couple hundred over general public rates on room discounts. Yes, we did end up planning one extra trip - we were going to go to DL this summer, but decided that since we already had AP's, we should put that off to next year and do another WDW trip instead. That pushes our AP savings on tickets into the 4 digit range. However, even without the "extra" trip, we easily saved over $500 just on tickets and room discounts. Enjoy your AP!

Yep those darn AP's. Dw and I were there and got AP's in May 2012, went Oct 2012 as well for F&W and Im working on squeezing out another trip in March or April this year just to make sure I get the most out of my AP's. Gotta work out the time off from work logistics but we drive from SC so plane fare is not a problem just getting that time off to do it. But we will get that 3rd trip in before these passes expire.

Yes ours are costing us money because they are an excuse to go. After we had made reservations with the ILs last May my mother announced she was taking us all for Christmas. We bought APs and TIW figuring it would save us money. It did until DH and I went by ourselves in Oct and now I'm trying to squeeze in a trip at Spring Break!!
