My brain doesn't seem to be functioning this morning, so I'm hoping someone who is thinking more clearly can help. We're looking to take my family with us on a trip, to celebrate my father's recovery after a cancer bout, and want to take my brother and his family with us, as I know that's the only way his girls will get there. So we'll have the following group: Me and my dh; our 10 and 12 year old boys; my mom and dad; and my brother, his dw and his 13, 11, 10 and 3 year old girls. Do we fit in a gv, or should I split us up? We need a full kitchen in one of the rooms to save$ pn dining costs. Can some experienced vacationers help me with this plan? We have 280 points a year, with 98 points going to be banked from 07. I wil be making arrangements during an "off" period, like October or January. Thanks!

I counted 12 of you so you would fit in a GV, but 12 is the max. It would be a little tight, but doable. I'm not experience with GV availability during your projected months, but my guess is that it would be tough to get one unless you booked 11 months in advance because your dates are around the Food and Wine Festival

Where do you own? If you're going for this plan you'll need to try to start booking at your home resort ASAP.

A GV at AKV would be good as your Mom and Dad could have the master bedroom then you and your DW plus 2 boys have one bedroom with 2 queen beds then your brother and his wife plus the two youngest could share a room with 2 queen beds then the elder girls could have the pull out double and single sofas in the lounge. There are also 4 bathrooms in all for the GV and a table for 12 to easily sit at looking at the floor plan for Jambo Lodges, plus it is all on one level.

you guys are fast! We're at AKV. I'm not on an ironclad time schedule, and can wait if necessary. I'm willing to go offseason, and I want to avoid F&W if at all possible. This celebration is important enough to pull the kids from school!

If you went in Jan and had the toal points of 2 years at 280 each and one at 98 making 658 points that would give one weekend (Fri and Sat) and 7 weekday nights so in all 9 nights at AKV.

Oh and the GV at AKV Jambo House has a pool table!

Definitely call MS now (even if you're not going during F&W). The only existing GVs are in Jambo house and there is just 6 of them. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Nothing to add about the room, but congrats to your father and his winning the battle with cancer, that's certainly a reason to celebrate! Enjoy your trip!:cool1:
