Help in adding a small contract

We decided we need a very small contract to add 25 points to add to our 100 points poly aug use year.
We like going for a week stay end of jan
Which needs 125 points thus the reason for a 25 points
We’re thinking of resale since our original contract is direct
Not sure where to even start
Please looking for the ins and outs of doing this thanks

If you want to buy resale, you should start by looking at dvcforless.com which lists all available contracts.

A 25 point contract is pretty rare though, and will not save you that much over buying direct even if you do find one in your use year.

I might suggest just going direct in this situation.

The hardest part buying small contracts resale is finding what you need.

There’s only one 25pt contract out there currently (not AUG UY either), and about 18 selling 50pt PVB but some of those have been sitting a long time waiting for someone to pay $190-$225pp.

Given the closing costs of a resale contract, I’d just go direct and ask them to waive the title insurance.

I’ve would just go ahead and buy direct - with an Aug UY you’ll get 2024 points ‘free’ and slightly lower closing costs narrowing the gap a bit between the cost of resale vs direct. In truth - I would go ahead and get 50 points for the DVC Y benefits and have MS split the cost over multiple payments or use a Disney Visa and get points and 6 months to pay with 0 interest.

Direct in this case. It's an actively selling resort
After taking into account the double points, matching use year, and unrestricted points, direct makes up for the extra 500 to 750 you save easily from resale.

Another vote for direct. The price difference isn’t worth the benefits of the direct add on for 25 points.
