Hey Everyone......I need some ideas/suggestions. I'm working on my cruise album and have some awesome pictures of Carnival's Legend. Right now I have 10 or 12 pictures of the Lobby and Atrium area that are full 4 x 6 pictures. I can trim them down somewhat but not much b/c I'll cut out the really neat parts. I have shots from the entrance looking up to the top which would be 4 or 5 decks, and then shots looking down as well. I also have shots of several paintings on the walls and ceilngs that are HUGE! The Legend's decor is kinda dark, w/alot of mythology characters and symbols. It was early December when I went last year so the ship is decorated for Christmas. For a 2 page layout I started out using deep yellow cardstock to pick up the yellow pitchfork looking symbols ( know there's an official name for them but don't know what it is!) that run along the banisters, along the staircases and other places. The rest of the pictures consist mostly of mirrors, glass, metal chairs and the bar areas. Here is where I'm stuck, I can't think of where to go from here. I want to use other accents but don't know what!! I used a border that has navy blue band w/yellow curvy line through it like this ~~~~ on both sides of the pages but from here I'm stuck!! I have several cruise related stickers but can't find anything that really goes w/it. :confused3 I need suggestions!!

TIA!!

have you already glued down the borders? If not how about color blocking the pictures? That is what I do when I have alot of pics of bldg's, landscaping or something without people in them. This way you don't have to focus on a title, sticker or embellie. Just using cardstock and some wavy lines helps a bunch. Usually I add some type printed paper to add a pop to the page.

If you have put the borders down already, how about ovaling a couple of the shots and having them overlap a 4x6 on just the corner. Double mat the photos, and maybe add a third color instead of a sticker. Put some dots and dashes around the ovals, in Navy to add pizzazz. Or do you have a patterned paper that you can add for a little detail. Maybe in squares that are double matted. You can have them off set on the corners of your pics. and add one or two to the borders.

Sometimes the pictures speak for themselves and you dont need stickers.
Add a catchy title. Don't think on it too hard, sometimes its best to move on and come back to it later on. Or add little anchors on the border and title it Anchors Away since its your first night.

Hey, don't know what kind of album you use but I sometimes buy Westrim fold out pages for my CM books, so that I can make a four page layout. This is great when you have a ton of pics of one thing.

Ok enough babbling....hope something helped.

Just finished a reply when my computer locked up so never went through and will have to start all over!

Yes, the borders have been attached and most of the pictures in this section have been cropped--not alot b/c I don't want to take any of the details out of the ship.

I think my biggest problem is finding accents to use that will bring out the pictures. They are fairly dark due to dark wood and low lighting on the ship. The majority of the pictuers consists of the mirrors on the elevators door, the details and workmanship of the main staircase and looking up to the huge domed ceiling. Here lies another problem. There is an enormous painting of Zeus (I think) on the ceiling which took 2 pictures to get the entire picture in! I can piece the 2 pictures together to give the entire effect but not sure how to go about doing this (borders, colors, embellishments etc). This is such a cool picture I don't want to take away from it at all. I think I messed up starting out w/the yellow cardstock but I thought yellow accented the pictures some and would bring them out making it a brighter L/O. Now I wonder if I should have used a dark background and used shades of yellow as a double mat.

I have been on 2 Peas but can't find much under cruising except for Disney or Ports of Call....of course not everyone would take a picture of a ceiling so I guess I'm a little warped!! :earseek:

Thanks for your input and suggestions. If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear from you!!
