I live in a townhome community. We have off-street parking -- think a rectangle with one opening on a short side and then cars park face in on the long sides. Unfortunately, I'm one of the two spaces by the enclosed side. So, with all of the snow, the plow just plows a strip up the center, leaving the snow behind my car. If no one is parked next to me, I can get out. If my neighbor is home and parked, I can't.

I called our management company to talk about having the snow removed -- nothing has been done. We're due to get 2 to 5 more inches of snow today. I need to call and explain that this HAS to be done. Obviously, I didn't get my point across the first time.

Anybody good at getting what they want? I think I just sound "whiney" rather than forceful, don't mess with me.

Help!

Thanks,
Edie

I woudl just say like you have here. This is NOT acceptable! You need to have to have the snow removed that is blocking my space. If I have an emergency and cannot move my car out because YOUR negligence I will not hesistate to sue.

I would maybe take pictures and take them to the office and show them what the problem is maybe they just dont get how bad it is.

I would put it in writing addressed to the president/head of the management company. Either send the letter certified mail return receipt requested, or fax it. Tell them it is not acceptable, please have this snow removed and ensure it does not occur in the future, it is causing you lost wages, etc. They are not meeting the terms of their agreement to provide you parking since your spot is not accessible.

Do you know the person parking across from you who is also blocked in? Maybe you could get them to complain as well.

Who hires the management company? The homeowners' association? I would contact them as well. They might be able to help.

Would you like to borrow my mother? She is VERY good at making her point. I am as well, but she is even better.

Sometimes words alone do not get across the point we are making. Get out your camera, and take pictures that show where your car should be and the amount of snow that is there. Take pictures of spots that have been cleared properly.

Figure out the "value" of your parking spot and send an email with your pictures (or a letter, or a fax) and ask them if they will be correcting the problem or deducting X amount of money. (You can break it down weekly, monthly, or yearly).

I would also send a copy to the snow removal company. Good Luck!

Maybe you could hire freckleandboo's mom to make a "very GOOD at making a point" phone call for you? She could always start off by saying something like "I am representing EdiePA in this matter."

I also like Tinker'n'Fun's idea.

Good luck,
agnes!
