I got assigned to be the party Mom for my son Kindergarten holiday party. Part of the party is doing a craft. I have no idea what to do. There are 10 boys and 12 girls in the class. I don't think it can be anything expensive. Any ideas???

How many kids are there? These are little kids so you need something easy! Do kids still make those macaroni wreaths? Cut out the circles, glue on all the pasta, then you spraypaint.

I still have mine from elementary school :)

Or just have them color some wreathes?

Maybe color a paper plate to put Santas cookies on? Or make a welcome Santa sign? Or a welcome Santa doorhanger (cur out doorhangers, and let them glue on Christmas shapes)

Make snowmen out of cotton balls, glue on paper.

WAIT! I know! lol, How about those candy canes turned into raindeer with googley eyes and pipcleaners? I LOVE those so cute!!

Try looking at the family fun wesite, they have lots of craft ideas.
Good luck! Better you than me. ;)

Candy cane/ twisted pipe cleaner for antlers/red mini pom for nose/2 googly eyes.
Materials needed: Candy canes/brown pipe cleaners/red mini poms/googly eyes/glue.

----------
This one hangs on my tree:goodvibes: Write childs name in glue on storebought ornament; let child sprinkle glitter over the glue.

--------------------------
This sits on my downstairs mantle

Take a LARGE pinecone (larger the better/ has to be the kind that is broader at the top) Glue the pinecone to a small piece of cardboard if the cone won't stand up on it's own. Spray paint green. Let the child take large sequins and glue on the "tree" for ornaments.

Good luck:wizard:

When my DS was in Kindergarten we invited his whole class to his birthday party - so about 12 kids. We did a craft - I got foam picture frame kits from Michael's and then little foam shapes so the kids could personalize their own frames. We took their pictures and printed them out and put them in the frames. I also got adhesive magnetic strips and put them on the backs of the picture frames so they could put them on the fridge when they got home. They really seemed to enjoy it.

Decorate sugar cookies

Build gingerbread houses using graham crackers, icing, peppermints & M&M's

Snowmen - precut circles and have kids glue cotton balls on them...use google eyes and precut felt shapes for eyes, buttons, nose, scarf, etc.

You could have them make ornaments. My kids did that when they were younger.

ornaments. you can go to a craft store and get clear ornaments that split in half. buy a bunch of red and green stuff and they can put it inside (beads, feathers, etc). then they can put stickers and/or paint on the outside.

I did this with a group of kids I had ..

The heavy duty cardboard that they have in most classrooms......cut out a butterfly design.......have the kiddos make designs on the butter fly and put glue on it and then let them use some sprinkles......if they are not allowed the sprinkles then just do some colors....
Glue the butterfly onto a snap clothespin.......these make cute note holders or they can be gifts to their parents ore grandparents....

easy and all you have to do is buy some clothespins

Cut circle or star shapes out of heavy cardboard. Then cut up small pieces of assorted wrapping paper. They should be no bigger than about 1 inch across and you can cut them in lots of different, random shapes. Brush glue on the cardboard shapes and have the kids glue the wrapping paper onto it. If you have time, they can do both sides. Sometimes the paper hangs over the sides of the cardboard and you can trim it if you want to see the shape. Punch a hole in the cardboard and tie a ribbon through it and you have a lovely handmade ornament!

You can also cut large candy cane shapes out of white paper. Give the kids squares of red tissue paper and have them scrunch each piece into a loose ball. Put glue on the candy cane in stripes and have the kids glue on the "scrunchies."

Cut the middle section out of paper plates so that they look like wreathes. Give the kids green and red tissue paper squares. Have them scrunch the green first into loose balls and glue it all over to make a green wreath. Then have them add the red scrunchies to make berries. Tie a bow with a jingle bell at the top and you'll have a nice wreath for them to take home.

This one is messy but doesn't take very long so you can spend time washing hands. Have the child open their hand, palm side up. Paint their fingers white. Then paint their thumb and the heel of the hand red. The middle of the hand should stay clean. Have the child make a hand print. The white fingers will be Santa's beard and the thumb and heel of the hand will make his hat. Glue on some cotton to make his beard, the hair below his hat and tassle on his hat. Glue on googly eyes or use a marker to draw eyes and a mouth. You'll have a cute little Santa face made with the child's own handprint.

Another ornament - Cut circles out of cardboard and make ridges around the edges (either using special scissors or just by cutting out little triangles). Cut a long length of yarn and tape it to the back of the circle. Have the child wrap the yarn all around the circle. The ridges around the edges will hold the yard in place. After they're wrapped it all around, secure the yarn with more tape or glue. Then have them put some glue and glitter over the yarn in any pattern they choose. You'll end up with a yarn and glitter ornament to hang on the tree.

These are some projects that my preschool class has been and will be working on before winter break.
