Help! I need the "Idiots Guide for Parents of Rainbow Girls"!

As for not crossing your legs, it is considered "un-lady like" to do so. We were taught to keep both feet and knees together and hands held in our lap. The Queen of England does this too.

Heck if I had reacted like your daughter did my mother would have pulled me from the program! DD you have a mom that is allow you to do a lot of things that take a lot of time, it seems she is doing her very best for you.

It really isn't - the equivalent boy group has to wear suits, I believe. It this day and age, it's nice for girls to wear dresses, instead of skin tight tshirts and jeans. It an old organization that many don't know about, because it's a masonic organization, so unless you come from a masonic family, or have friends in it, you wouldn't know about it. It helped me tremendously with memorization, public speaking, and leadership. It focuses heavily on community service. Visiting nursing homes, soup kitchens, raising money for charities...

Its not so secret. I was best freinds with a rainbow girl/jobes daughter. I attended MANY of there events. I went to parks, went on trips and installation. Heck when I would go to installation the girls would invite me into the back to help them with hair and there dresses. I was invited to sit in on there practice installation and often got to help with many things. Odd thing is at 21 I found out my uncle was a master mason!

I don't know much about Rainbow Girls past they wear a lot of white dresses but I feel your pain. It is hard to tell what is important and not important. I would get a name of one of the other parents to contact so you can call and ask if a meeting is important and what the appropriate dress is until you get the hang of it. I bet they went through the same thing. Next year when you see a new member's parent looking confused befriend them. Let them know that you were confused as well and let them know that you are available if they have any questions. Another thing to keep in mind is that each chapter may have different rules/ guidlines so getting advise from the internet may not be your best option.

Regardless.....:grouphug:
