Help! I need some quick DisBoard resort therapy to help me decide!!

OK, we will be within the 5 day cancellation limit on Saturday and I need help! We can either stay for FREE (using points) at the DD Hilton, or pay a discount rate at the BWI Concierge. Some background: This will be our first trip as an entire family in 4 years and everyone leads very busy and stressed lives. The BWI Concierge would be wonderful because we would know exactly what floor we would be on, what our view would probably be and have unlimited food and drinks. It is within walking distance of all of our favorite places and is beautiful. The Hilton in DD has recently be remodeled and is within walking distance of DD. It has bus service that takes you close to the gate of the parks. Our request for a DD view would probably be honored, however they don't have balconies or windows that open. We would have access to the concierge lounge due to our HHonors status so there would be some food there also, although I have heard that the lounge is crowded and the food goes very fast and is slow to be replaced (online review opinions). It sounds like it is a good idea to have a car there because of bus issues. What would you do?

Do Hilton first and then go to BWI concierge.... (you don't want to do Hilton last and feel let down LOL)

I think that both choices sound great. The free trip to DD Hilton would definitely give you a lot of money for great dinners and extras. That is kind of hard to pass up. However, I think that BWI looks really fun. The split hotel stay sounds like a good idea. Either way, you will be staying at a great place. Have a great trip!

That's a hard one. You could have some really nice dinners with the savings, but the location of the BWI is awesome. Just as an FYI I don't know if you've stayed concierge at the BWI before but the evening offerings aren't as plentiful as say the Polynesian or AKL, but the desserts are to die for.

I would go for a split stay

Thanks for the ideas. The problem with a split stay is that part of our party will only be with us for the first 2 days. That is the time I really want to be on property for the convienence. We could always move to DD after that, but like someone said, that would be a letdown after being onsite. But it's hard to argue with free, although those points can be used for a later stay.

Go to BWI and use the Hilton points elsewhere at another Hilton - enjoy the magic of being onsite

Vell then, you should go there! You've been very good the last four years, and you deserve it! Your HHonors points aren't going to disappear into thin air you know! (Though your frequent flyer miles might!)

Well, I have now cancelled the Hilton and will be staying at the BWI, I just couldn't do it. Thanks for the opinions everyone!

would be BWI - hands down. I know the Hilton is probably fine and it is Downtown Disney but I would pick a Disney resort any day!! Plus, think of the beautiful Epcot Resort area. Bus? You don't need a bus for 2 of the 4 parks. I don't know but this sounds like a no-brainer to me.
