I'm planning my daughter's birthday party and I forgot all about party favors. It is this weekend so I need some creative ideas. The party theme is rapunzel. I'm planning on around 15 kids mostly girls. I know a lot of parents don't like the little "junk" bags! lol Any ideas that won't cost me a fortune?

How old is she? I like to give one thing that is cute or fun rather than a baggie of junk. Maybe a bouncy ball from Target? They usually have some princesses themed choices. A crown or kids hair extensions would be cute with the Rapunzel theme.

We just went to a partye at Pump it Up (a jump house place) and DS got a glow necklace (they turn the lights down) and then a balloon when we left. I was king of surprised there was no "goodie bag" but then I thought about it and said nope this was better I dont need any more junk...and when the glowing was down it went in the trash, same with balloon when there was no air...worked for me...

If you have a cheap ice cream place I have heard people give a way a coupon for a free cone.

Do you have good used book store nearby? Our has some new books in it and when my sons were younger I would buy a nice selection of early readers and younger-kid chapter books and let each child choose one on the way out the door. I think I spent more than $2 on each and there was no candy, no bags to get thrown away and no cheap plastic stuff.

Good luck!

I bet you could get coloring books at a craft store like Michaels for super cheap, and crayons are really inexpensive with back to school sales right now. One year, I found tubes of coloring pages at Target on clearance that were princess themed. Those were cute. I've also done sticker sets.

I just picked up favors for my son's party at Dollar Tree. They have 24ish piece jigsaw puzzles in Disney themes for $1 each. We're having a pooh party, so we picked up a pooh puzzle for each kid. I'm not sure if they have rapunzel specifically, but they definitely have princesses.

I had a tea party for my dd's birthday and as treat bags I got plain gift bag and stamped them and wrote each girls name on them then I went to the dollar store and purchased teddy bears. They looked so cute with their heads sticking out of the bags!

That was it, no candy, no junk!

Rapunzel party screams hair bows to me. Not sure what to do about the boys though.

My daughter is having a Rapunzel themed birthday party also. Our favor will be watercolor paints, I put a sticker on it that said "Rapunzels paints.. thanks for coming to my party". They were $1.00 each. I got the idea from another website with Rapunzel party ideas.

For my daughter's candy themed birthday I gave out water bottles (from Big Lots that were $3 for 24) and printed labels that I made match the theme and got toothbrushes from the Dollar Store.

For Rapunzel you could do hairbrushes for girls and combs for the boys...maybe throw in some stickers for the kids to personalize them.

How about going to Wendy's and getting those little prepaid vouchers for a small frosty? What kid doesn't want a frosty? That is our go-to cheap evening out during the summer when we are trying to kill time before bed and it is too hot to do anything outside. :goodvibes

It doesn't go with your theme. But, what about some school supplies. They're really cheap right now. That is what I did for years when my DD was younger.

Picture of their child at the party. I did this for my son when he was younger and the parents really liked it and the kids would hang them up in their rooms. We made sure we took a picture of every child with some of the others...eating cake and ice cream, playing a game, etc. Or you could get one really good group shot and print the same one out for each child. Use photo paper.

If you had time you could make cute frames but this isn't necessary. The kids could even make them at a craft table while they wait for parents to pick them up. Foam frames or colorful thick paper frames could be cute with stickers or glue on stars, etc.

I just saw some Rapunzel things in the Target Dollar Spot today. They had several cute things!

For my DD7 birthday I went to Sams Club and bought small tubs of cotton candy (There are 9 in a pack for abt $7). I tied ribbon around them with a couple of suckers attached. Less than $1 for each and it was something different. The kids loved them.

Get a bunch of paddle-style hair brushes and a few paint pens (from a craft store). personalize the hairbrushes for each of the kids. Like this You can probably get the brushed at the dollar store. Cute - and follows the theme.

Print some Rapunzel coloring sheets online, buy some .25 crayons, wrap up together in yellow yarn or ribbon. I did ring pops for my dd's party- $1 for 4 at Dollar Tree.

I end up throwing out most of the goody bags my DD gets. She had a Rapunzel movie party last year for her 8th birthday and each girl got a chapter book. They were hardcover and I got them for $1.50 at Ocean State Job Lot. This year she is having a sleep over. I was at Target and they had Hello Kitty pedicure sets (complete with flip flops) for $2. I got all 8 of them. Figured she could give out the rest for birthday presents if she has any extra.

I tend to give goody bags that are useful. My DD went to a bday party yesterday and I cringed when she brought the goody bag home...until I looked in it. It was lip gloss, nail polish, and a little fake nail set. Very cute!

LOVE the PP idea of the hairbrushes. THinking I may just have to add that to the pedicure set. They did have some at the Dollar Tree. If you are looking for activities for the kids to do they can decorate their own hairbrushes. Doubles as an activity and a thank you gift.
