Soooooo....my genius brother invited my family (2 adults) to join his family (2 adults, 2 small children) for a weekend in Disney World (Boston to Orlando). Money is tight, so we declined....but THEN he explained that he and his wife had recied a 40% off discount for Wilderness Lodge and we could all share a room, and wouldn't it be fun and blah, blah, blah.

Soooo I book the flight for my wife and I and THEN he lets me know the next day that, well....actually there were NO double rooms available at the 40% off rate and. soooo....sorry!

Argg, I could kill him!!!:headache:

So now, here is the delema....I can absolutly book my family at a moderate, but gees, the POINT of this whole impromptu vacation was to be together AND if I'm gonna pay Delux Rate$ it's got to be for the Polynesian and not the Wilderness Lodge (no offence Lodge lovers...Ive been dreaming of the Poly since '72).

Any advice? I keep reading this and that about "codes", how does one get said "code" and are they ever available for the Poly?

Thank you sooo much to anyone with ideas

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your brother could book 2 rooms with his code.

Getting the codes is somewhat of a mystery, I signed up for the Disney Visa, ordered the vacation planning DVD and am signed up to the disney web site, if you have ever stayed at disney call and check they have your correct address and email, I have recieved pins in the mail, and just recieved my first email pin last week, also if you get the Disney Visa you get special offers from them. I believe the second poster is correct that your brother could use his code for 2 rooms, he should call and check but I think they have to be at the same resort. Good Luck

Waiting to hear about the two-room issue as well, but...
Check out renting DCV points (also on disboards) to stay at the WLV. You may find a great deal, and still be at the same resort. From what I see on the resort boards, you might not be getting adjoining or connecting rooms anyway, even if he books them at the same time being you are two families.
Poly will be more expensive no matter which way you look at it, if money is an issue on this surprise trip.

Bump++++++anyone know the two room thing for sure???

Although I don't know about the 40% off for sure, I did try to add an extra room to my reservation for my nephew and his wife with the 4/3 deal. I thought it would be no problem since I would have everything under my name including the payment and we were well under the 45 day mark. I was told, no, they had to have their own reservation since it was a different household. :confused3

If my nephew and his wife were "set" on going I would have kept calling back to check with a different CM. They decided to go to the beach, instead.

You can typically book up to 3 rooms on a PIN code. Tell your brother to call & check availability at the Poly for you. The ressie will be under your name, but the CM will "link" the ressies. I have a client with 2 rooms at the CR under 1 PIN, and she had thought about adding a third room for her brother, possibly at a different resort. So they don't even have to be at the same resort.

He shouldn't have any issues, unless the PIN is now expired or they don't have any availability at Poly. You might see if there is another resort you'd be willing to take as well, in case the Poly doesn't have any availability (possibly give him a second & third choice, just in case).
