OK...I know if anyone can help me, it will be you wonderful dis'ers. I just learned how to digi-scrap, and use Photoshop. I did a layout and saved it EXACTLY as 5x7 inches at 300dpi. When it was printed at Walmart, they cut off the left side and some of the top. Why? Do I need to save the file differently? Any advise or help will be appreciated.

What size did you create your layout originally? If you created at 12x12 and saved at a smaller size, it probably saved the same ratio for you, so would be still square and either 5x5 or 7x7, so when you sent it off to be printed, it would cut part of it off to fit the different ratio.

This happens on photos to. Tell them you want it reprinted "full frame" it may not be exactly 5x7 - there may be some white space on one or two edges but they should be able to print everything in the jpg file.

I created the files AS a 5x7...so I wouldn't have any problems, but it didn't work. I've had someone else mention about ratios to me...but I don't know how to change the ratio in photoshop.

Hop over to the photography board on the creative community. I am sure some of those folks use photoshop and can give you good instructions. They may even know why the printers didn't print it correctly.

Hope this helps. Sandy

I went to Wal-Mart to print the pics from my October WDW trip, and when I received them, I noticed that my boyfriend head was cut off in one:scared1:
Upon closer inspection, I noticed that a lot of them were missing some part of the subject, and it wasn't due to my poor phographing skills! ;)

I was told by another store (Costco, kind of like a Canadian Sam's Club) that Wal-Mart prints its pic with an automated system, and that I should get my pics developed at a place that had somebody manually check the pics...

Hope it helps!
