Everytime I step on my scale I can get a different reading. :furious: In a matter of 3 seconds I can gain or loose 3 lbs. How can this be? It really makes me mad. I don't have a cheap scale either. It's one that we purchased from Bed's, Bath, and Beyond we paid $$$ for it. It's a digital Lithium that's supposed to last 10 years. Does anyone have a bathroom scale that they absolutely love? What kind is it? I want a new one.

I can see it now, newspaper headline: "Woman In Michigan Arrested For Scaleacide." Apparently she threw her bathroom scale out a second floor window. :rotfl2:

Bathroom scales are evil spawn, I hate them.

I just suggest getting rid of it and dont worry about it. Instead use a tape measure to measure inch loss instead of weight loss.

I got a Health O Meter body-fat monitoring scale that allows settings (height, M-F, etc.) for 4 people and can track progress toward weight-loss goals, etc. It's very cool. Found it at Wal-Mart and IIRC, it was something like $35, but well worth the money as far as I'm concerned. You see, I too have committed scaleacide, on more than one occasion.

I LOVE my weight watchers scale from target. Always accurate, always the same reading and it weighs to .1 pound, which is great.

OK, when I read the title of this post, I mistakenly thought it said "Help I ATE my bathroom scale." Boy would that have been a problem! :rotfl2:

I stopped using the bathroom scales when I realised they were lying to me ALL the time :)

Go on...............throw it out the window.....................on second thought, scales are so evil, it would probably bash somebody's head in ON PURPOSE just so you'd get sued. ;)

How does one get rid of an Evil Thing?

Try cleaning the rubber feet that the scale rests on. If there is a build up of gunk, it could cause the readings to change.

Try a known weight. (25# bag of dog food? barbell weight? etc)

Try a new battery.

I'm taking my birthday money (happy birthday to me :wizard: I'm starting a new decade) and :moped: to the store for a new scale. It's going to be :badpc: getting rid of the old one. :cool1: I wonder how much hard time I'll get? :rotfl:

They took the scales out of the bathrooms at our YMCA because people
kept beating them up. :rotfl: Seriously.

I read this morning on Yahoo that people who weigh themselves every day do better at maintaining their weight. I guess you don't let your weight get out of control when you closely monitor it.

I need a new scale too. I have the same problem OP.

I think your right. I have to monitor it daily. During each of my pregnancies I gained 60lbs. I'm sure it was because I couldn't accurately gage how much weight gain was too much.

Plus with the dumb thing I have now, if I only weighed myself once a week, I could get very discouraged if I got an inaccurate reading. Which is almost a sure bet.

Those suggestions are much too practical and absolutely no fun. ;) I recommend a 10 lb. sledge hammer, OP. :teeth:

I understand there is a STV going around.

That would be a Scale Trojan Virus.

It assimilates by creeping into unsuspecting scales, and much like a computer virus - it skews data. I think the variable is about 10 to 20 lbs over what you really weigh.

The STV is approaching epidemic proportions.

I know because my scale has it. It is posting a number at least 20# more than I know I weigh.

And my doctor's scale has also contracted it. It gave me reading far over what I weigh at my annual appointment last week.

Yeah, I know. I wasn't sure if the OP was asking for technical support or (im)moral support. :thumbsup2

Let's start again.

Try driving onto the scale with your car. You'll find out how much 1/2 of your car weighs just before the scale breaks! :teeth: Reverse and repeat as necessary to remove stress.
