Monday night I make the decision to get my (big) BUTT is gear and try to make it smaller :) I do really well on Tuesday. Wednesday I am STARVING, I just couldn't get full/satisfied. Thursday, was a little better but still it took eating a lot more then I would have liked to feel satisified. It's too early to say how today will go (its only 9:30am).

HELP!!

I am determined to loose 10 lbs by our Disneyland trip (15 or 20 would be even better :teeth: ) but the way things are going I am going to end up GAINING 10 lbs.

christa,

what are you eating or what type of 'diet' are you doing? Some don't let you eat enough and of course, you wil be hungry. Others cut fat intake so low that none of the food satisfies.

Maybe more info would help.

My husband and I have each lost about 18 pounds in the last few months. The only thing we cut out was drinking anything but water. Since we live in the South, we both love that very sweet iced tea. But we cut out sugared drinks and started exercising (a little, not a lot) and you wouldn't believe how fast the weight is falling off. My husband figured out that between the Iced tea, Kool-aid and juice he used to drink all day long, he was drinking about 1,500 calories a day.

We still eat what we normally did (last night was cheese cake for dessert) and every once in a while we splurge and have a Coke or something with meals.

Not only have we lost weight, but we also save almost $4 every time we go out to eat in not buying drinks we don't need.

Disneychrista,

One thing I always try to do when I'm trimming calories, is to replace them with something else. Water, may be what you're thinking, but, no. (Although, that is never a bad idea.) I mean something more substantial. It could be 20 mins. walking, bathing, reading, whatever you do to indulge yourself. (besides a yummy meal :p ) If you have no indulgence, get one. You deserve it! Just keep it healthy. Give yourself a facial, or visit with a friend, by car, phone, e-mail, even write a letter.

I can't speak for anyone but me, but food is an emotional issue with me. It is so comforting during stressfull situations, and what I've learned is that being overweight is stressful. What an awful cycle! I'm trying to convince myself, with some success, that I'm actually giving up nothing, but, rather, spoiling myself with luxuries. I make time to do these things, because I deserve to feel good about me. Next time you get the yummies, have a bite of what you crave, then go on to one of your indulgences. when you feel like you do today, come to the board for support, and keep up the good fight!

Tracy

What eating plan are you following? I know what I eat when I get the munchies but it might not fit your plan. I have a very emotional attachment to food and I have days when all I want to do is eat :(

I am not really following any real "plan." I find trying to work within most plans too difficult. I am trying to learn how to eat, something that I can work with for the rest of my life.

I am trying to cut out the junk (easier said then done) and trying to eat more fruits and veggies.

I am a vegetarian so getting good protein sources are big. I am not a big fan of soy/tofu which means bean, nuts, and cheeses are my main sources of protein.

I am starting tracking my (estimated) calorie intake per day trying to keep it between 1500 - 1800 calories a day. I actually was SHOCKED yesterday to find I was actually UNDER 1500 for the day.

I am cutting out most calorie ladden beverages, such as sodas, and trying to increase the water and other low/no calorie drinks (like tea, crystal light etc)

I am going to try to exercise several times a week, and work up to everyday. This is the biggest opstical for me. Being a single parent finding time to work out can be difficult. First thing in the AM is the best time but getting out of bed to "just do it." And most nights are occupied with basketball practice or soccer practice etc.

I am determined and I know I WILL do it but sometimes it gets so frustrating.
