Sorry, I always try to print/email myself when ever I find a piece of information that is useful to me regarding my planning, but I seemed to have dropped the ball on this one & REALLY need to find the answer again :

I read that if you are doing DCL transfers and also doing Onboard Airline Check In, that if your flight departs at a certain time (said time is the information I'm missing... I'm thinking it might be 1pm but I need absolute clarification) you need to be officially off the ship by 8am (like have already scanned your key to the world card officially disembarking the ship by 8am) - I read that if you're not off the ship by 8am then DCL no longer transfers your luggage for you & have to go claim it at baggage claim and bring it to the bus yourself.

Granted, I know that either way we need to be out of our room by 8am, but being out of our room by 8am vs. being entirely off the ship by 8am is a BIG difference. We have second seating for dinner, so it's my understanding that if we choose to sit-down breakfast that we'll be doing that at 8am. So I do not want to have to plan to be off the ship by 8. Having DCL not transport our luggage for us would be a massive problem (it's probably the main reason we're choosing DCL transfers), so we really want to get the timing right to ensure they can smoothly

So, can anyone help by confirming this detail of how late our flight needs to depart in order for us to not have to RUSH off the ship by 8am?

Thanks!

Isn't it always the way! Moments after posting this, I found the answer to my own question!
The Debarkation Letter Welcoming you to Port Canaveral reads the following "If you have a flight prior to 1:00pm, you must debark the ship prior to 8:00am. Failure to do so will result in your bags being pulled, and will require you to check in directly at the airport" this bullet point is listed on the second page under the section "Transportation" and the heading "To Orlando International Airport"
Problem solved! I'll book a flight that departs after 1pm

According to this official looking website:

"If your flight departs prior to 1pm, it is recommended you disembark by 7am"
"If your flight departs after 1pm, you have the option to depart as early as 7am...but please depart by 9am"

The first one is a bit ambiguous in that it says "recommended" vice mandatory. When on the ship, just talk to guest services and they will give you the most current info.

I can only relate my experience last year using the Onboard Airline Check-In. Our flight wasn't until about 4pm. We had second seating so breakfast was about 8am for us and we didn't disembark until about about 9am. We were on one of the last buses to leave the port (we had a short wait but were obviously in no hurry given our late flight). While this was our 5th DCL cruise, this was the first time we'd used this DCL service and so we stopped by the ticketing desk to insure the airline had received our luggage. I was a bit concerned because we had a 6 hour wait (which turned into almost 8 hours) and most airlines won't accept checked baggage that long before a flight. But our bags were in the system so we just hunkered down and waited until our flight time. Our bags were at luggage claim after our flight, just as promised.

As an aside, our tickets included 1 free checked bag per person, so when I submitted our forms to Guest Services, I attached a copy of our reservation (which I'd brought along specifically for this purpose) showing these "free" bags so we wouldn't be accidentally charged for them, which GS appreciated.
